The result is a glove that’s highly breathable and totally waterproof. The microporous structure of the GORE-TEX® membrane is what makes GORE-TEX® products completely waterproof. Each microscopic pore is about 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, which means no external moisture — from rain to snow — can penetrate the membrane. The pores in the GORE-TEX® membrane are 700 times bigger than a water vapor molecule, so perspiration can easily evaporate through and you can stay dry from the inside out. GORE-TEX® insert. Lavawool® is engineered by Gordini® to combine the warmth of wool with the comfort and wicking superiority of fleece, Lavawool® in independent tests outperforms 100% wool and leading synthetic fabrics. How? Lavawool® utilizes the inherent insulating properties of wool to keep you warm; but, unlike pure wool, which absorbs and retains moisture, Lavawool® wicks moisture quickly from your skin and garment with its patented weave of synthetic fibers and wool. This marriage of fibers is the Lavawool® advantage — keeping you drier and warmer wherever your cold weather adventures take you. Naturaloft® is a goose down insulating concept. Our Naturaloft® gloves are insulated with 600 fill power goose down on the back of the hand. The down is isolated in small chambers so there is no fill migration. This ensures even distribution of the goose down and the ultimate in insulation performance. The palms of each glove are made from Megaloft® insulation, a lofty and soft insulation that will not compress on the palm, it provides warmth and ensures good manual dexterity. Naturaloft® mitts are made of 600 fill power goose down; the down in mitts is also encapsulated to prevent against migration with down in both the back of the hand and palm. These mitts are an essential skiing product for those that need the warmest mitts available. Aquabloc® is Gordini’s proprietary waterproof breathable windproof technology. Exclusively engineered for handwear, this is an insert technology that allows moisture accumulated from within the glove to escape and provide for breathability and enhanced warmth and comfort. The molecules of the insert are wide enough apart to allow moisture to escape, yet close enough together to guarantee that water will not penetrate the glove. These inserts are seam sealed, so stitching from the gloves will not interfere with your Gordini® glove’s performance InSilk® is Gordini’s exclusive silk insulation. As nature’s premium insulation, it is a hypoallergenic, all natural, renewable resource that is highly breathable, will not compress or get wet and features climate controlled properties; keeps you warm when the mercury drops and cool when temps rise. 1. What is DownTek™ Water Repellent Down? DownTek™ Water Repellent Down is down that has been treated with our water-repellent-nano-treatment. We employ a proprietary application method instead of a bath treatment, thereby eliminating waste run-off. 2. How does it work? When regular down is exposed to moisture, the moisture droplets cling to the filaments of the down cluster, forcing the down to collapse in on itself. When wet, regular down loses its ability to insulate because the pockets of air that provide insulation collapse. Air pockets on the down clusters of DownTek™ Water Repellent Down do not collapse. The nano treatment creates surface tension on the surface area of the treated down clusters. This surface tension forces the moisture molecules to bead up and roll off the down, leaving each cluster free to continue trapping warm air, thereby maintaining the ability to insulate even when wet. 3. Does it make the down heavy? The nano treatment used for DownTek™ Water Repellent Down adds no discernible weight to the down.

4. Is DownTek™ Water Repellent Down safe? DownTek™ Water Repellent Down uses a C6 carbon chain PFC. The EPA has researched C6 PFCs and found they generally have a very short half-life, so they are not persistent in the environment like the C8 PFCs. DownTek™ is PFOA and PFOS-free. 5. What about traceability and sustainability? Down Decor® is committed to the principles of sustainability and traceability, and the ethical treatment of birds. Each of our factories are RDS certified, continuing a longstanding tradition of maintaining the highest ethical standards in our business. 8. Why would my customers want a product containing DownTek™ Water Repellent Down? Consumers are quickly discovering the benefits to having climate versatility from their down products. Having the option to wear a down jacket in the rain or snow, and being able to camp in inclement weather without worrying about keeping your sleeping bag dry is changing the way consumers view down. DWR down will soon become the standard instead of the exception in the down industry. We believe DownTek™ Water Repellent Down is the best DWR down on the market and we plan to continue setting the standard.
