EDITOR’S LETTER
T
here is no better way to start talking without mentioning this magnificent acting talent that performs Scarlett Johansson in the Joss Whedon movie “Avengers Age of Ultron”. She has shown a great talent in action movies, specially in this one where she is the only female avenger. She performs with Ro-
bert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, James Spader, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Andy serkis, Don Cheadle, Tom Hiddleston, hayley Atwell, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris ELba, Anthony Mackie, Claudia Kim, Josh Brolin and Lou Ferrigno. She brings the character Natasha Romanoff/ Black Widow
in Iron Man 2 (2010), Marvel’s The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and is set to reprise the role in Captain America: Civil War (2016) as a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise. So good has been the response from the public to this movie where Scarlet performs that the producers and the director have been talking about a sequel in Avengers 3. Of course we hope to see Scarlet if a third movie is realized, it’s good to see greatest talents like this in the big screen. Just to make it clear, this magazine is all about fashion and entertainment, showing the latest trends and improvements that come with this new season, starting with the “Whims of the designers” of this century in what respect about models, where we see the latest trends in models and the good that is knowing that the fashion industry has open its doors to new aspects. As a complement we also show the latests trends to wear in this spring/summer season, with all the good and bad things that fashion offers to the public. We also have some trends that people might think don´t look good on them, but this season brings us the minimalistic sandals that more than being so fashionable, will make us feel comfortable. In this issue we also bring the latest news on entertainment and the stars of the big screen, we cover all the world needs to know. EDITORS-IN-CHIEF Brenda Molina & Amanda Orozco

thing new for the fashion industry that would have been rejected or
ignored before. Now they are praising this look although it albinos would have been discriminated against. It would seem the fashion industry has become more understanding and open-minded embracing androgynous and albino models. Being relatively new to the model industry, Ross has already started ambitiously pursuing
Ross also has worked with other directors, such as Julien Seri, Jason his fans and admirers with his apperance in Katy Perry’s video “E.T.” Stephen Thompson, the face of Givenchy’s spring 2011 collection, has oculocutaneous albinism type 1. This form of the condition, he explains, results from the inheritance of two recessive genes that prevent the body from changing the amino acid tyrosine into pigment and, as in his case, can cause vision loss—he’s blind in one eye. Standing on the corner of 59th and Lexington, illuminated to near transparency by the winter sunshine, he gestures down the street in the direction of the Lighthouse, a center for the vision-impaired. He still works there, as a preschool aide in a mixed class of sighted and vision-impaired children, several of whom also have albinism.

ANDROGYNOUS I MODELS
n the broadest senset implies existence of masculine and feminine principles. Not just a persons, but nations and cul-
female characteristics but their combination. We can discuss phenomenon of androgyny in different areas of today’s world: business world, entertainment industry, arts, and in particular fashion industry. When we think about the connection between fashion industry and androgyny there are two things that get in to our mind. First is referred to a common fact that designers are supposed to have male strength and female sensibility, in order to make good, creative and innovative work, which results in a certain kind of inner androgyny. The other is about androgynous way of dressing that is a result of a certain social situation, especially instarting in the 60s. Until that period fashion designers used to produce clothes that were in accordance with gender roles: women would wear skirts, and men suits. In the 60s situation changed, inspiring designers to adapt to the innovative fashion mutations: model Twiggy, cuts her hair and popularizes boyish hairstyle; men belonging to hippie movement let their hair grow and dress more similar to women and rock stars wear tight pants and bright
‘’Annie Hall’’ in which the main female character wears man’s shirt, tie, galligaskins. This movie took part in making new fashion style, called New Yorker style, which wasn’t seductive, but opened to new experiences setting unisex clothing as a mainstream. In the 80s wide shoulder straps give women a new strength, look ce. Unisex trend was not popular during the 90s, but in the new millennium it becabrands such as Burberry, Marni i Gucci underline that the greatest use of androgyny in fashion is seen through female suits what clearly highlights gender equality. Fashion always played with androgyny, but lately it takes over very provocative steps. In spring/summer 2011 Balenciaga’s fashion show had androgynous models,

While 2013 and 2014 revelled in bringing effortless, tomboyish styles to the runway and the street – think oversized blazers paired with full skirts, masculine sporty accents or boyish accessories – the most prominent use of gender blurring in spring 2013 was masculine tailoring. espite being in “princess mode” while shooting for this year’s cover story, Bullock, 50, insists she just laughed when she heard about the honor. Instead the Oscar winner, who voices a super villain in the upcoming

I just told him, ‘Always love those who want to love you back and are nice to you.’ Then we moved back to Legos and ‘Why are you making me eat broccoli?’ “ never let him know it. We have rules,” she says. “I let everyone else be the aunties and uncles who spoil him and I’m the one that lays down the law.” The actress reveals that Louis can always make her laugh by dancing occasional Downward Dog thrown in for good measure”) and still doesn’t know what his mom does for a living. “He thought I was an astronaut for a while,” she adds. “I want it to be so inconsequential and such a nonissue. I want him to be embarrassed by me like all other parents.” “I love that it’s not big weights, you move the entire time, it’s a torture chamber of sorts,” she says. “When I started, I could barely do 20 seconds, and I’m not kidding. SEX MYTHS YOU SHOULD STOP BELIEVING
If sex were a board game, the how-
to handbook would be some five billion pages long — with different rules dictated by and for each individual player, and a new set of rules each round. Good luck. Despite the bevy of “do this, not that” sex-advice pieces out there, it’s safe to say that some things society has taught us are just plain wrong. Below, Emily Nagoski, author of the book Come As You Are, squashes some ageold myths about getting it on.
27
BIFROST
1
. “Men think about sex every seven seconds.”
According
to the Kinsey Institute, “54% of men think about sex everyday or several times a day.” That stat is from a 1994 survey called “Sex in America”, which also says that 43% of men
only think about sex a few times per month or a few times per week, and 4% less than once a month. The “every seven seconds” myth is easily perpetuated because there’s a widely held belief that men are physically wired to want sex all the time. But even Snopes doesn’t seem to know exact-
2
ly where the myth, and variations on it, originated. .“The average penis length is 8 inches.” The average erect penis size is between 5 and 7 inches, according to both the Kinsey Institute and the National Health Ser-
vice. When flaccid, typical penis length varies more — averaging from 1 to 4 inches. And, in case you were wondering, the NHS says: “A penis would only be considered unusually small if it was less than 3 inches
3
(7.6 centimetres) long when erect.” So there you go. . “Most people have sex before they reach 16.” Only around 30% of people have sex before 16 and this hasn’t changed in the last decade, according to the Britain’s third Na-
tional Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles, known as Natsal.
(That’s just about intercourse. If the survey as-
ked about first sexual experiences, including things like kis-
4
sing and masturbating, it might be a higher proportion.) “You can tell how big a man’s penis is by looking at his feet.” A 1993 study with the promising title “The relationship among height, penile length, and foot size” found that penis length was statisti-
cally related to both height and shoe size. But, crucially, the correlation was so weak that it couldn’t be used as a predictor. Essentially, you can’t tell the size of a man’s penis just by looking at his feet. What’s really interesting is why myths like this get perpetuated, said Boynton: “I’m pretty sure you don’t have the same preoccupation with either vaginas or clitorises. But you do have this thing [with men] that you can tell by looking, that sense of surveillance. It
5
brings us back to penis size anxiety. It’s men policing other men.” . “Watching porn rewires your brain.” It does — but that’s because everything we do “rewires” our brains in some way. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s just how our brain incorporates experiences. As Sense About
Science’s Bad Sex Media Bingo site puts it, “Learning ‘rewires’ the brain too, but we don’t go around trying to get schools banned.” People who say that porn rewires the brain tend to use this as a way to silence any nuanced discussion around the issue. “Rather than blaming porn, we need to accept it is a part of our culture and to work with it rather than against it.”

ROBERT DOWNEY JR Walks Out Of A Cringe-Worthy Interview with style “There’s an assumption that … because you’ve sat down there you’re going to be always assuming the social decorum is in play, and that we’re promoting a superhero movie, a lot of kids are going to see it, and that just has nothing to do with your creepy dark agenda.” (ROBERT DOWNEY JR.)
W
hile promoting Avengers: Age of Ultron in London, Robert Downey Jr. was expecting to talk all things Tony Stark—he
was not there to discuss his past personal struggles. So when Channel 4 News’ Krishnan Guru-Murthy began hesitantly asking the 50-year-old actor
about “the dark periods you went to... taking drugs and drinking and all of that,” things took an awkward turn for the worse. “I just wondered whether you’re free of all that,” the interviewer continued as Downey began to appear visibly uncomfortable.
“...or whether’s you think that’s still — “ “I’m sorry,” the actor interjected. “I really don’t—what are we doing?” -“Well, I’m just asking some questions. That’s all,”- stammered Guru-Murthy. Off-camera, a female voice (presumably a publi-

“I’m sorry,” said Guru-Muthy, holding up his hands. “It’s OK,” answered Downey, removing his mic to return to the production staff. “It’s just getting a bit Diane Sawyer...” Presumably, he meant the movie junket chat had taken too personal of a turn.
