Welcome Cattlemen and women . . . . .
Lee & Tina Robson P: 403.748.2054 Lee Cell: 403.357.4280 Guest Consignor Jenna Olson Silvertop Simmentals Levi Marcinek Cow Boss Simmentals
It’s 2020 and so I welcome you to our 15th Annual Bull Sale. I’m not even going to mention 2019. We are looking forward to a better year in 2020. We’ve been breeding Simmentals for 31 years and are continually amazed at how the breed has improved calving ease, both through the sire and dam. End return through weaning weights is also a desirable trait the Simmental breed offers. Functional, high producing Simmental-cross cows are in high demand at commercial production sales. At Lockhart Valley we realize that buying a future herd bull is a very big investment. We strive to offer sound, long lasting bulls (we do know of some bulls we’ve sold still working at 6,7,8 years of age) and that all starts with our cow herd. We are always trying to improve udder quality, feet, do-ability, temperament and longevity.
We are proud of the bulls in this sale offering. The bulls are split into two groups that are housed in large pens. They are fed a TMR ration consisting of grain silage, 10 lbs Wetaskiwin bull pellets and 4 lbs barley. They are bedded heavily and have a oiler in the pen to work over.
Bulls are on a full herd health program and we work closely with the Bluffton Veterinary Clinic to insure the soundness of our whole herd.
The boys will be semen tested in February and will be offered for sale with a semen test. As most of you know, last year was horrible for semen testing and we did sell bulls deferred. We are pleased to say they all went out and worked for their new owner. You can buy with confidence as we stand behind each and every bull we sell.
We would like to welcome Levi Marcinek of Cow Boss Simmentals. It’s great to see a young fellow starting out and we offered Levi a spot in our sale and are happy he said yes. Levi has been buying bred females at some prestigious heifer sales in the past few years. His offering consists of 6 really good bulls. Also returning is Jenna Olson of Silvertop Simmentals. Jenna has 4 good bulls on offer and one Fullblood heifer. This is her strongest set of bulls to date. We at Lockhart Valley are proud of the bulls we have an offer and invite you to stop by anytime before the sale to look the bulls over and have a coffee and a visit.
Please join us on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 1:00 pm on the farm. Come early, view the bulls and have lunch on us. See you there. Thank-you, Lee, Tina, and Hannah Robson

POLLED PUREBRED
In the spring of 2018 we were on the hunt for a heifer bull. Lee put on miles looking at bulls and finally found IPU Dillinger 14E. A very small 78 lb birthweight, smooth long build made him the number one choice. We were not disappointed as his calves came easily at birth, but had good growth the rest of the way. A couple of his sons will make heifer bulls and will be indicated in their footnotes. IPU 14E A.K.A. as “Bigfoot Barry”, has polled all his calves and puts large testicles on his sons.

Welcome to the 2020 edition of the Lockhart Valley Bull Sale. I would like to thank Lee and Tina Robson of Lockhart Valley Simmentals for inviting me to participate in the sale once again this year. I would also like to thank Scarlet Livestock for purchasing bulls from me at last year’s sale.

I am very excited to market this group of bulls, as they are absolutely packed with performance and style! I culled hard this past year, and am confident this group of bulls is the best I have offered to date. Just like in years past, my bulls have been fed and housed with the Lockhart Valley bulls, from the day they are weaned until sale day. They are on a full herd health program, and are fed a ration of corn silage, bull pellets and oats. This is my 7th year selling bulls and I am confident they will work for just about any kind of program. Please feel free to contact me any time to discuss any questions you may have regarding the bulls on offer. If for any reason you cannot make it to the sale, you can view it online through DLMS.ca. Good luck with your 2020 calving season and I hope to see you at the sale!

SILVERTOP WHOA OST 169G
21/1/2019
IS ME 169G
POLLED PUREBRED
Silvertop Whoa Is Me 169G is a bull that is very true to his name, because when you see him you can’t help but stop, and say “Whoa”. I can feel confident in saying that this is one of the very best bulls that I have raised to date. I halter broke this bull as a calf, and he is absolutely as docile as they come. One of the most impressive things about this bull would be his pedigree. On the top side is none other than Wheatland Bull 680S himself. 680 has been one of the most influential bulls in the Simmental breed when it comes to adding milk, meat and muscle. He is now deceased, and his semen is tough to find, so being that 169G is a direct son is pretty special! On the bottom side of the pedigree is Crossroad Columbia 169C. Way back in 2014, my Grandpa called up our good friends, Gerald and Laurie Woytiuck of Crossroad Farms and asked them to pick out two of their best black baldie heifers for us. It took a little bit of arm twisting, but they did indeed pick us two phenomenal heifers, that have turned into two of my very best cows, and Crossroad Columbia 169C happens to be one of them. She has a picture-perfect udder, and just keeps producing the good ones, year after year. Whoa Is Me has great testicle development, and is structurally sound with a strong foot that carries a deep bodied, thick made, attractive frame. Invest with confidence in 169G, that his calves will push down the scale while still maintaining that extra eye appeal.

SILVERTOP CLASSIC 33G
20/1/2019
HOMO POLLED PUREBRED
Silvertop Classic 33G is an extremely stylish, Riddler son with tons of power. LFE The Riddler has been utilized as a popular AI sire by lots of progressive breeders with impressive results. He ranks in the top 1% of the breed for both weaning and yearling weights. If 33G follows along in his sire’s footsteps, he will add performance, power and respectable calving ease to his progeny. The maternal genetics are also strong within this bull, as his dam is a beautiful blaze face cow whose daughters have been all been retained as replacements in my herd. Classic is a very nice headed bull with lots of internal dimension and is structurally sound. If you want to move your herd forward, take a serious look at this bull on sale day, he is full of consistency that you can rely on. HOMO POLLED

Silvertop Paralyzer 12G is a bull that I am extremely excited to market this spring! He is a very attractive bull with a perfect blaze. Paralyzer exhibits high performance through his deep muscling that follows through a wide top and long spine, that is carried by a set of solid black feet that will last for a long time. If you are interested in weaning weights, take a look at his impressive 1140lb ww. This bull is absolutely packed full of powerful maternal genetics, being a son of the great LHVS Willow 12W cow. Willow is a cow that is always the first one to be admired on pastures tours, because of her sheer mass, milking ability and overall eye appeal. Paralyzer will be the LAST bull ever on offer out of Willow, as I have sadly retired her this year. 12G also happens to be a maternal brother to “Silvertop Cash 1A” that the great people of Scarlet Livestock are very high on. Paralyzer was 2 weeks overdue, so I attribute his higher birthweight to that. Do not miss out on the opportunity to own a bull with elite maternal genetics that will go out and sire very eye catching, awesome milking, replacement females! HOMO POLLED

Silvertop Ferdinand 40G (AKA Ferd) is a bull that holds a very big spot in my heart. I named him after the book that tells a story about a friendly bull named Ferdinand that would rather smell flowers than fight with the other bulls, and that is absolutely 40Gs personality. Following in his Dams docile footsteps, he has been a pet ever since he was born. I hauled this bull down the show road this fall to Stockade Round Up in Lloydminster, where he was admired for his overall soundness and advanced testicle development. Ferd is made with tons of depth and thickness, is structurally correct and carries a very nice small head. His dam is a very attractive, moderate, blaze face first calf heifer that sure knew how to do her job right. She carries a perfect udder and milks enough to keep up in a dairy barn. If you’re looking for a moderate, dark red, bull that is full of maternal strength, don’t miss this guy on sale day. HOMO POLLED & NON-DILUTER

SCURRED FULLBLOOD
Silvertop Glamour 16G is a heifer that I should not be parting with, but I am a firm believer that if you are going to bring an animal to town, it must be your best, and she is just that. Glamour is a dark cherry red, double goggled, attractive female with an abundance of hair. Along with her eye appeal, she is full of natural thickness that does not come from a chop pail and stems from generations of longevity and fantastic producers. 16Gs dam is a SU Jenkins 6G daughter that my Grandpa retained from his herd dispersal. She is a near perfect dark cherry red, double goggled tank of a cow, that still managed to be as attractive as they come. In 6 years, between bull and heifer sales, this cow has raised me upwards of $25,000 and she is only commercial. That just goes to show that if you have a highly fertile, awesome milking, structurally sound cow family such as 16G, it will go a long way, whether it be commercial or purebred. Glamour is sired by one of the most highly proven fullblood sires around, Crossroad Radium 589U. He has stamped the breed, by adding calving ease, style and sheer performance to his progeny. If you want to raise the good ones, you need to start with a good factory, and I believe this heifer will be just that. 100% FULL FLECKVIEH

Welcome to the Lockhart Valley and Guests Simmental Bull Sale. My name is Levi Marcinek, & I am one of the lucky guest consigners! I would like to start off by thanking the Robson family for being such wonderful hosts to the bulls and myself ! I am very grateful and excited to be apart of the sale! My small (but growing) herd of 15 registered cows is mixed in with the 300 commercial cows. They are not pampered by any means. They have to produce in their working cloths like the rest of the herd. I have been trying to expand my registered herd by purchasing females from reputable breeders within the industry. I strive for sound footed, good uddered, easy doing females who bring in all the pounds possible in the fall. And bulls that go out and work for the commercial producer.
COW BOSS SIMMENTALS Levi Marcinek Box 46, Stauffer, AB T0M 1W0 Contact: 403-896-9746 Email: cowbosssimmentals@gmail.com
I have always admired fleckvieh cows, for their big time milk production and ability to maintain great flesh while raising that calf up. And of course the performance in the calves. At the end of the day, cattlemen sell their calves by the pound. That is why performance is key, and why I choose to raise Fleckvieh Simmentals. I am proud of the bulls I have on offer. They are all off young cows who I hope you will see more bulls out of in the future! Each and every bull of mine was born unassisted and sucked on their own. All these calves were nice and vigorous at birth! They came to Lockhart Valley at weaning and have been fed along side the Lockhart and Silvertop bulls from the beginning. They have been on a full herd health program. Diluter tests have been sent away and should be back by sale day. If you have any questions regarding my offering, feel free to give me a call! I look forward to talking bulls, Saturday March 7 at the sale. See you there!

Griz has been a standout since birth. The sire - HHCC Baccarat 159B is an absolute meat machine and his steers are our heaviest in the fall and this bull is sure to follow in his father’s footsteps. Griz is dark cherry red, double goggled, has lots of hair and is wide and thick. His mother is a good cow. She has a son walking the pastures at Dwayne & Kyra Patterson’s of Crooked Creek, AB. This bull will produce some thick, growthy steers, no doubt!

Gunner comes out of a heifer I purchased from my good friends at Langer Fleckvieh. A heifers first calf and I couldn’t be happier with the job she has done! She is a beautiful young cow I have high hopes for. His sire “Radium,” is no stranger to the industry as a calving ease bull. But with the Maroon on the bottom side of the pedigree he still packs a punch. He is red nearly to the hoof with an excellent hair coat. He has a quiet disposition and is over all very eye appealing. He is one I wouldn’t mind keeping for my own use.

This bulls name was inspired by the Ol country duo, Montgomery Gentry. Their song “That’s something to be proud of,” makes me think of this bull. I think he will mature out to be a very good, honest bull. He will have just turned a year old by sale time and is the youngster of the pen. His mother is a very promising young Maroon daughter with a beautiful udder. His sire FGAF Seldom 835L is one of my favorite bulls and I hoped too hard for Gentry to be born a heifer.... But my loss is your gain! He is one of those under the radar calves (Primarily because of his age) that I think will work out very well for someone. This bull would work very well on second calvers too.

Griffin is also off a very nice first calving heifer who comes from Virginia ranch. She is a feminine young cow with a small tight udder, and yet raised the heavy weight of the pen at weaning on her first try! Actual weaning weight of 900 lb. on September 10. This bull is extremely deep and soggy, Is as long as a freight train and has a super quiet disposition. He was born unassisted with the extra BW being made up by the extra length he has. Griffin is sure to add pounds to his calf crop, yet calve very easily.

This bulls cow family goes back in our herd longer than I’ve been alive. It has been a no miss cow family that is high on my list in our herd of 300 commercial cows. I have lots of confidence in this bull. He sells as GRADE as his mother is a 1/2 angus 1/2 fleckvieh cow. She has perfect hoof structure (with no cracks) and a beautiful udder. This is the first bull calf she has ever had and all her daughters have been retained in the herd. She is a black cow so there is black genes in this bull. He could work well, back on black cows. His sire is one of the best bulls to walk our pastures co-owned with Klassen ranching. LHVS 26A has perfect feet at 7 years of age. His daughters inherit his foot structure and have beautiful udders with lots of milk. I left the nuts in this calf with the intentions of keeping him for myself, but with the confidence I have in the cow family, I am offering him up for sale. He is a soggy sucker with a huge set of testicles and a moderate frame. He has herd bull written all over him. I suggest keeping every daughter out of this bull. They will be good ones!
