Welcome FROM Redrich...
It is our pleasure to welcome you to the 5th Annual Sale held at the farm. An extended Thank You for your continued support of our program!
Time seems to go faster every year – it feels we were just planning last year’s sale. It is amazing to watch the third generation, our grandchildren, growing so quickly. It is heartwarming to see our one and three yr old granddaughters’ bottle feeding a twin calf. We are so proud of all our family and grateful for their involvement in our family run operation.
The 2022 growing season gave us timely rains and most operations have ample feed. This winter has been quite mild and it is encouraging to see cattle prices rising early in 2023. Early indications and all predictions are for tremendous fall calf prices!! It’s going to be enjoyable to have cows again for you cattlemen who held on to the old cow’s tail and let her pull you through the leaner years.
We are grateful to our fellow breeders buying with confidence the females that we have offered. As I review some 2023 Bull Sale catalogs, I am pleased to see some heifers purchased out of the Redrich sale have raised some top end herd sires for their new owners.
The 2023 YEARLING BULL pens are as deep and consistent set of bulls that we have ever assembled to date!! We have toured and looked at the calves as they have developed and still cannot pick just one as our favorite. In the Angus pen the Respect sons are everything we expected, powerful and stout with great presence. Adding Clooney to our program offers dark cherry red calving ease bulls and next year there will be more of them. The Scenic Route sire group is an impressive set of calving ease, very maternal bulls. Yogi adds a new sire group and he stamped them dark red, attractive and full of muscle. The Simmental pen has a lot of red this year with easy doing, soggy, free moving bulls. We are impressed with the new sire groups from Exceed and Harlem. There aren’t very many black Simmental bulls but they are a real strong group.
We feed the bulls a TMR ration of silage, hay, superoats and a protein based supplement to ensure muscle growth and health in the bulls. Bulls will be weighed and semen tested prior to the sale.
We have Angus BULLS – Red & Black, Simmental BULLS– Red & Black and we have offered some purebred heifers Angus & Simmental, along with some pens of Commercial Heifers.
As sale day gets closer please don’t hesitate to call Bill, Ty or Gus. Bulls and heifers are here for you to look at any time. We enjoy the visits and showing you the dams to the great set of bulls.
We have a great sales team, they have been through the pens at least once, Taylor, Bryon, Roger or Ryan will be here sale day and can handle any of your questions. The DLMS staff will also be present to offer online service if the weather turns or you just can’t get away sale day.
Buy with confidence – we want to be the 1st to know if something goes wrong with your purchase.

Calving Ease Legend
Calving ease is often related to birth weight of a bull. This is partly true but there are other factors that influence calving ease. The dam and her management are at least 50% of calving ease. Also, the consistency of the birth weights of the sire and dam should be considered. We rated each bull in the sale based on the information we have.
*** Should be minimal problems when bred to moderate sized heifers.
** Recommend for second calvers and larger framed heifers
* Recommend for mature cows
