The longest and most careful process Dennis and I go through in the course of the year is selecting AI and Herd Sires, picking qualities that they must have and then looking at the Dams to make our final decision. We watch calving ease EPD with a growth spread EPD. We are lucky that we share the same philosophy in staying consistent with this selection, to produce these yearling bulls and our future mother cows. We have a nice even set of bulls on offer here today. We have a nice set of cows at home. If you view the bulls before the sale you will receive a $200 credit at the sale, per customer. HERD HEALTH MANAGEMENT
All Yarrow Creek Bulls have been Parent Varified
We provide the best care possible to our herd working closely with the Fort Macleod Vet Clinic; Dr. Todd Baker, Dr. Claudia Schlueter, and Alycia Webster; can’t ask for better service. We follow a strict vaccination protocol. Our calves are given MuSE and Vit ADE and Enforce at birth. Replacement heifers receive there 1st shot of Pyramid FP5 VL5 Booster in February prior to breeding. In June at tattoo time our calves are given Long-Range, Pyramid FP5 with Presponse, Fermicon 7/Somnugen and DNA Tissue samples are taken also. All our cows at this time also receive Cylence along with the Herd Sires. At preg check time in August; our cows receive a Tasvax-8 way and Express FP5-VL5. Calves all receive Pyramid FP5 with Presponse (booster) and a 8-way. We also use Quiet Wean’s at this time and remove them in 7 days at weaning time. All our cows are vaccinated for scours and are also given Boss pour on for lice. We believe it’s important for our customers be informed of our strict herd management. All bulls will have received Fusaguard 1st shot and booster prior to sale day. We have used LongRange (Boehringer) for 2 years now and truly believe it makes a difference on our calves. We have also used Boss Feeds (Cattle Active ) lick tubs in the spring during calving and have seen a real difference in health of our calves and cows at this stressful time. Bulls are started on Bullseye pellets at weaning and gradually stepped up over time as they grow. At all times our bulls have access to Free choice hay and we really see a difference on how our bulls maintain condition after they leave our place and are working at your ranch.

Seems like yesterday we were getting taught the ropes by our friends in the Power Pak Bull Sale. We still have lots to learn in the purebred business, but with every bull sold and new friends made it sure is a rewarding ride. Last year we sold our first ever Red Bull to good friends out in Spring Coulee AB. This year we will have a few more for your appraisal. One is very exciting because it is our daughter Raegan’s first bull, she will sell in the bull sale. It’s very exciting to see the next generation’s passion for the cattle business. Our oldest son Jared will also have his first bull in the sale this year. I believe in time these two will push me to the side and run with it their own way. We are very excited for the bull offering this year! I spend many hours looking for the next great herd sires to improve our cow herd, and thus improve your herd. The bulls on offer I believe have lots of attributes and qualities that will improve your cattle herd. Red and Black Heifer bulls, and cow bulls that will add lots of maternal value, performance, carcass qualities, calving ease, and good over all structure to your herd. BULL MANAGEMENT All the bull calves were weaned on August 10th, 2021, this year due to poor drought-stricken pastures. We started the bulls on an alfalfa silage-hay ration to get the bulls onto feed nicely. We then included a pellet ration from Bullseye Feeds into the alfalfa silage. We don’t push the bulls to hard and let them grow slowly into their genetic potential.

– TERMS & CONDITIONS – Terms of Sale: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. No release of livestock will be given until satisfactory settlement has been made. We reserve the right to withhold animals from shipment for which payments have not been received prior to departure time. Certificates of Registry: A certificate of registry will be duly transferred to the buyer by the breeder for each bull after complete and full payment has been made. Cattle Inspection & Identification: CCIA tags will be in all bulls. All bulls will be available for inspection prior to the sale. Fertility: All yearlings will be scrotal measured and palpated prior to the sale and all yearling purchases will be semen tested prior to delivery. All bulls will meet or exceed breed standards.
Breeding Guarantee: We guarantee to provide you with a sound breeding bull, capable of passing a breeding soundness evaluation performed by a licensed veterinarian. In the unlikely event of any dispute, the regular terms and conditions that are standard with the Canadian Angus and Canadian Simmental Associations shall apply. Customer satisfaction is paramount to us. Delivery of Bulls: We will offer free delivery within 200 km. of home; after that at cost. Delivery on the yearlings will commence early April unless prior arrangements have been made with the seller. Post Sale Bull Development: We will winter your yearling bull purchases free of charge until April 1, 2020. After that, feed at cost of $3/head/day will be charged. All bulls returning to the consignors’ must be insured. All bulls will be housed at buyers’ risk, the consignors will not be responsible for any type of injury while the bulls are in their care.
Bull Insurance: Ownership risk to the purchaser commences when the Auctioneer’s gavel falls. Livestock coverage will be available at the clerk’s desk from our appointed representative on Sale Day. Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of the buyers; neither the sale staff nor the owners assume any responsibility in this manner and disclaim any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of an accident or loss of property. Announcements: Any changes from information in this catalogue will be announced from the auction block. Such changes will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue and therefore buyers are cautioned to pay close attention to any such announcements.
