MESSAGE FROM CLIVE

On behalf of B2Gold Corp., I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to all involved with this year’s 2022 B2Gold Big Brothers Golf Classic and to Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club for once again enabling us to enjoy an exceptional day at one of Vancouver’s finest private golf courses, all in support of a very worthy cause.

As a result of the generous contributions from our sponsors, donors, volunteers and participants, we were able to raise $347,351 at the 14th Big Brothers Golf Classic — the event was a tremendous success!

After last year’s wet weather, the sun gods smiled on us this year and our guests were able to enjoy a beautiful day of golf. Following a delicious “grab and go” breakfast, guests headed off for a round of 18 holes of golf, and at each hole further activities or food and beverages added extra fun for the players. The entertaining atmosphere created a super opportunity for colleagues and players to relax and network on-course. The networking continued later with cocktails while guests bid generously on our silent auction on the silent items and experiences which had been kindly donated, then enjoyed a fabulous meal. The evening’s MC was Global TV’s Mark Madryga who kept the evening moving nicely along, and it was a pleasure to enjoy the company of so many after the last couple of years’ covid-restricted events.

This brings to light the importance of the commendable and meaningful work that Big Brothers offers the Greater Vancouver community. We were delighted to have two inspirational and special guest speakers, Big Brother Cameron and Little Brother Quan, join the cocktail reception and provide a heartwarming account of their experiences and the positive impact that Big Brothers has on their lives.

As with previous years, the success of this event would not be possible without the incredible generosity of our corporate and individual sponsors, participants and auction donors, as well as the tremendous effort and countless hours devoted by the entire Big Brothers team and volunteers. I also want to express our utmost appreciation for the sponsors and players who supported the day’s festivities despite their busy schedules. Please know that your support means a great deal to the Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver team and the young people they mentor.

We are exceptionally proud of our association with the Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver, working in unison with them to help make a positive difference in the lives of young people. Having been a Title sponsor of the Big Brothers Golf Classic for 11 consecutive years, having raised an excess of $4 million over the years, we are looking forward to you joining us again next year and making it our best year yet!
