GOLF PROFESSIONALS

Every golfer should always be aware of proper course etiquette. Section I of the USGA Rules of Golf covers the fundamentals of the game including courtesy and priority on the course, and care of the course. All youth golfers are strongly encouraged to read the Rules of Golf before going on the course. Some suggestions are:

COURSE ETIQUETTE

• Always check with the Starter or Golf Shop staff before starting play • Stop and look before making a practice swing • Play from between the designated tee markers • Stay behind other players until they have hit • Be ready to play your shot • Keep pace with the group in front (not the one behind) • No running, shouting, or horseplay

COURSE CARE

• Repair all ball marks plus one • Avoid taking divots on practice swings • Sand divots in fairways or kick in the sides • Fill divots on tees with tee mix • Rake bunkers • Use appropriate trash containers
