Hartlepool Borough Council disregards all payments made to veterans under the War Pension Scheme in relation to charging for residential and non-residential services, with the exception of payments of Constant Attendance Allowance, which is specifically intended to pay for care. For anyone receiving payments under the War Pension Scheme who is not a veteran (e.g. surviving family members) the rules are slightly different, with generally only the first £10 per week disregarded as part of the assessment process. This will be discussed with you at the time of your assessment.
