Mackenzie and I attended an event in Rockhampton to address concerns with Residential Care as part of the Residential Care Review. It was lovely to meet some people that we only get to converse with over email, we also go to voice our concerns with the system we are ruled by and how it effects both positively and negatively the young people we care for and our company
ServiceDelivery
Over the last few months we have been brain storming ideas that will improve our intake process. The biggest thing that was mentioned was the amount of paperwork!! Well I have good news we have reviewed all documents and the process itself and we have streamlined and will be fully paperless by the end of September. All forms are being transformed into PDF and digital signatures will be added This will enable us to send copies straight away to the Participant and we will be saving the Trees!

This month the Rockhampton Day Service group participated in lots of new and exciting activities. We are still enjoying our Monday fishing trips and have implemented them into some of the Friday adventures to Yeppoon. Congratulations to the guys who have learnt how to cast a line into the water on their own, thanks to our support workers, Brandon and DJ.
On Friday the 4th of August, we all attended to the Rockhampton Heritage Village. The crew got to experience how life worked before electricity with a tour through many homesteads while taking in many vintage cars, tractors, fire engines, horse-drawn carriages and wagons on display.
While we have enjoyed science experiments, 10-pin bowling, spa days, woodwork activities and held a nice morning tea in honour of ‘Jeans for Genes Day, September brings so much more.
