Taking time out of their work day, REALTORS® from twelve states participated in a national bell ringing event for the Salvation Army on Friday (December 9th). Recognizing that most charitable organizations are trying to fill a growing need in our community while the volunteer pool shrinks, REALTORS® from the Hawaii Association of REALTORS® stepped up to help with the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Fund. On a local level, agents from Hawaii Island REALTORS® and the West Hawaii Association of REALTORS® participated in the event. Over 53 agents rang bells at 14 locations island wide. When asked about her experience at the event, Rochelle Augustin, REALTOR® at Clark Realty Hilo said, "It was great! There were lots of dollar bills and my bucket was filling up. The community appreciation & support to the cause was heart warming." Other volunteers echoed her comments. Prudential Orchid Isle Properties Smurf House came out on top with the Best Overall, Most Creative, and People's Choice Award while Julie Hugo's President's Woodie Playhouse took home the Green Award. Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers' Boat Playhouse won second place overall, while Coldwell Banker Day-Lum Properties' Plantation Hale took home the third place award.
