6 DIY Sunscreens to protect your skin from the scorching sun.


Allowing your skin to get a right amount of sunlight is good . But, soaking up your body in the sun for a longer time may definitely burn your skin. That’s where you need to use Sunscreens. Sunscreens prevents premature aging, sunburns protects your skin from tanning. It lowers the risk of skin cancer. Here’s how you can make your sunscreens. 6 DIY homemade sunscreen recipes: 1. Olive Oil and Almond Oil: Olive and Almond oils are rich sources of vitamin E. Zinc Oxide is a natural sun protection agent which has a 20+ SPF. What you need: ½ cup Olive oil, ¼ cup Coconut oil 2 tablespoon Non Nano Zinc Oxide ½ cup Almond Oil ¼ cup Beeswax How to prepare: Mix Olive Oil, Almond Oil, Coconut Oil and Beeswax in a jar/ container having a wide mouth. Melt this oil mixture in a double boiler. Make sure that water from the double boiler does not mix in the oil mixture. This oil mixture will melt in some time. When the oil mixture melts, add Zinc Oxide and mix well. Be cautious not to inhale Zinc Oxide. Allow this to cool and store in dark color glass container or jar having wide mouth. Voila! Your sunscreen is ready!!


2. Raspberry Seed Oil: Raspberry Seed Oil has a SPF of 30+. This recipe not only protects you from skin tanning but also makes your skin smell sweet. What your need: ¾ cup Raspberry Seed Oil ¼ cup Beeswax 2 tablespoon Shea butter 1 tablespoon Non Nano Zinc Oxide, 15-20 drops Essential Oil How to prepare: The preparation for this sunscreen is same as that of recipe 1 (Olive and Almond Oil). After you are done melting the other ingredients, add zinc oxide and essential oil to this mixture. Mix evenly. Store in a dark colored air tight container. Apply 10-15 minutes before you step out of your home. 3. Shea Butter: Shea Butter alone works as the best moisturizer as well as a sunscreen. What you need: ½ cup of Shea Butter ½ cup of Coconut Oil How to prepare: Make a double boiler. Add Shea Butter and Coconut Oil in a container and let these oils melt over double boiler. Alternatively, you can apply a cream made out of Shea Butter.


4. Tea Leaves: Take three tablespoons of tea leaves and soak it in one cup of water. Let it sit for overnight or for at least 5-6 hours. Next morning, strain this water and separate tea leaves. Collect the tea infused water in a glass bottle. You can store this water in refrigerator for longer use. 5. Using Body Lotion: Mix one tablespoon of zinc oxide with your regular body lotion. And your sunscreen lotion is ready! 6. Wheat Germ Oil: You may have heard about how Wheat Germ Oil is used to nourish skin. But did you know that it is also good to use in sunscreens? This sole ingredient works as natural sun protecting agent. It has a natural SPF of 20. Simply apply this oil on your face, neck and hands before going out in sun. Precaution: Nano Zinc Oxide are very small particles and can enter the body through the skin, causing potential health problems. So, make sure you use only non nano zinc oxide.
