Non Disc-Based Technology

HOW THEY WORK

Non disc-based exhausts use more traditional methods of modifying the exhaust stream. Baffles, tubes & chambers are used to make the exhaust change direction and reduce velocity. Slowing down the exhaust stream allows it to remain in contact w/ the packing materials longer. These materials absorb the higher frequency sound waves. Sound quality can also be altered by changes in baffle configuration. As sound waves travel through the exhaust canister, they can be bounced off of surfaces and reflected back against themselves to alter the frequencies or tone of the sound.

HOW TO USE THEM

They have fixed performance characteristics designed to perform optimally under specific conditions. You do not have the ability to make changes to the exhaust itself. In most cases, you’ll be required to make jetting or fuel map changes to your motor in order to use a non disc-based exhaust.
