Established in 1899, the Fuji brand is one of the oldest surviving bicycle brands in the world. Guided by three core principles – strength, heritage, and passion – Fuji’s steadfast philosophy in utilizing the most advanced technology and incorporating elite athlete input into its high-performance products has enabled the brand to endure while others have faltered. Originally a Japanese bicycle manufacturing company, Fuji expanded its distribution to the United States in the 1950s, selling its Nichibei Fuji bikes through Sears & Roebuck and Montgomery Ward under their house brand names. In the ‘70s, Fuji America decided to change its distribution model, developing 10-speed racing bikes for the dealer market that made an immediate impact on cycling in the States. Fuji’s new racing bikes took the competitive cycling world by storm and competed head-to-head with the Italian bicycle brands that had maintained such a stronghold in the market.

Today, Fuji has joined forces with Advanced Sports International, giving the brand the necessary muscle to expand across the globe. ROUBAIX
While the Roubaix platform has been updated through the years to reflect new materials and design technology, the essence of Fuji’s best-selling and longest-running road race bike remains the same. FIT The true aerodynamic equation is bike + rider = speed. Yet the biggest factor, which accounts for 85% of total drag, is the rider. So, while it makes sense to design a bike with low drag coefficient numbers, it makes even more sense to design a bike with a wide range of adjustability options that allow any type of rider to find their perfect aerodynamic position. Whether you’re a time trialist, triathlete, man, woman, short or tall, the Norcom Straight is guaranteed to fit you into the most aerodynamic position, and therefore to optimize your speed.
SPEED Maximizing speed on a bicycle can be defined as a rider’s ability (power output) to overcome air resistance. In our quest to develop one of the world’s fastest bikes, we made our way to the A2 wind tunnel. Inside the wind tunnel we tested, refined, and tested again every iteration of the Norcom Straight. The final result is in: the Norcom Straight is 18% faster across the most common yaw angles than the D-6, our previous Tri/TT bike. Simply put, the Norcom Straight is now one of the fastest bikes in the industry.
PERFORMANCE We have been using input from athletes to help us refine our bikes since the 1930’s. While our product managers and engineers utilize the latest test equipment for strength, stiffness, and aerodynamics, we count on our riders to give us the final word on ride quality. Feedback from our riders indicated that the D-6 was stiff, which was great, but that they wanted a leaner silhouette for the frame. Our objective was clear: to retain the stiffness and reduce aerodynamic drag.
