Dieser Satz bring genau auf den Punkt was corratec ausmacht. Als Unternehmen, als Marke, als Rennteam als Fahrradhersteller und als Partner des Fachhandels. Passion of cycling – seit nun mehr 27 Jahre ist das unser Kredo und definiert all unser Werte, unsere Arbeit und unser Handeln. Die corratec Technologien zu erleben spricht für sich. HISTORIE VON DER BIKE-SCHMIEDE ZUM INTERNATIONALEN PRODUZENTEN. Dabei fing alles klein an, als Konrad Irlbacher Senior, ein leidenschaftlicher Skirennläufer, 1970 in Rosenheim den IKO Sportfachhandel gründete. 1982 startete sein Sohn Konrad mit dem Verkauf von Rädern und Ersatzteilen, aus dem sich bald eine leistungsfähige Technikschmiede entwickeln sollte. Als Händler und Importeur bekannter, meist italienischer Marken sammelte das Unternehmen unter der Leitung von Konrad Irlbacher eine Menge Know-how. Unter dem Markennamen corratec wurden 1990 die ersten eigenen Bikes produziert – bis heute.

— FROM A SMALL BIKESHOP TO AN INTERNATIONAL PRODUCER From humble beginnings, Konrad Irlbacher senior – a passionate ski racer – founded the sporting goods retail shop IKO in Rosenheim, Germany, in 1970. In 1982, his son Konrad started to sell bikes and parts and thus fostered an efficient company with expertise. As a dealer and importer of well-known brands, especially from Italy, the still young company accumulated technical know-how under the lead of Konrad Irlbacher. In 1990, bicycles under the name corratec were produced for the very first time – until this day.

CORRATEC TEAM Seit der Gründung 1990 ist der Rennsport fest in der DNA von corratec verankert. So konnten seither zahl reiche Erfolge auf regionaler, nationaler und internationaler Ebene gefeiert werden. Zu den größten Erfolgen für corratec gehören der Weltmeistertitel von Bruno Risi auf der Bahn sowie der Gewinn des grünen Trikots (bester Bergfahrer) beim Giro d’Italia für José Rujano. Zudem geht corratec seit Firmengründung mit einem werkseigenen Team bei Jedermann-Rennen in ganz Europa an den Start. Dieses Team corratec konnte in den letzten Jahren beachtliche Erfolge feiern wie z.B. den Sieg beim legendären Ötztaler Radmarathon oder diverse Siege beim Etappenklassiker TOUR Transalp, das als härtestes Jedermann-Etappenrennen der Alpen gilt. Zusätzlich sind auch noch das Team Radroo und das Team Baier-corratec Landshut in und um Deutschland bei zahlreichen Rennen aktiv und feiern dort beachtliche Erfolge. Neben den sehr erfolgreichen Straßenmannschaften sind auch Teams von corratec im MTB-Zirkus unterwegs. Das Italienische Lunardi-corratec Team gehört zu den erfolgreichsten MTB Cross Country Teams in Italien und feiert vor allem im Master Bereich einen Erfolg nach dem anderen. Seit 2017 ist das neu formierte Team Damil GT Trevisan Saby auf den pfeilschnellen corratec Revolution 29 Hardtails unterwegs und mischt schon zum Anfang der Saison im italienischen Elitebereich mit.

Since the foundation in 1990 racing is deeply embedded in the DNA of corratec. Therefore, the corratec athletes celebrated numerous victories in regional, national and international competitions since 1990. The biggest successes include the world championship title of Bruno Risi on the Track and winning the green jersey (King of the Mountain Jersey) of the Giro d’Italia by José Rujano. Furthermore, corratec has its own factory team that participates in amateur races around Europe. This team celebrates many victories in the past years the biggest successes were the win of the legendary Ötztaler Radmarathon and several Wins at the amateur-stage-race Tour Transalp, which is called the toughest stage race through the alps. Additionally, the Team Radroo and the Team Baier corratec Landshut participate in several races in and around Germany and celebrate there significant results.

Beside the very successful road racing teams, corratec supports MTB especially Cross-Country Teams as well. The Italian Team corratec-Lunardi is one of the most successful MTB Cross Country Teams in Italy and especially in the Master-Class the Team strikes from one to another victory. Since 2017 the new Team Damil GT Trevisan Saby Team trust in the super-fast and light corratec Revolution 29 Cross-Country Bike and beat up the Italian MTB Scene very well.

Expandiertes Polystyriol (EPS) hingegen dehnt sich bei Hitze aus und drückt von Innen gegen das Carbon. Das Ergebnis ist ein leichterer, steiferer und gleichmäßigerer Rahmen.

EPS Traditionally, inflatable bladders are used inside the carbon frame to force the material into the mould, but this technique leaves wrinkles or inconsistent thickness. To avoid this, we use expanded poly styrene. When heated, this material swells and exerts pressure on the inside of the carbon fibre. The result is a lighter, stiffer and more consistent final product.

Trotzdem lässt sich der Akku zum Laden mühelos aus dem Rahmen herausnehmen. Dieser intelligente Deckelmechanismus wurde von corratec entwickelt und ist bereits zum Patent angemeldet. Der Deckel für den Akkuschacht besteht aus hochwertigem Polyamid mit Glasfaserverstärkung und ist deshalb extrem stabil und robust. Die Integration des Akkus schützt die Elektronik zuverlässig vor Schmutz und äußeren Einflüssen.

The all new Shadow Edge Tube hides the Bosch Battery Pack completely inside the down tube and provides therefore a nice shape and look of the frame, nevertheless the battery can be removed out of the down tube for charging. This intelligent and innovative lid-mechanism is developed by corratec and patent pending. The lid of the battery housing is made of High-Grade-Polyamid with Glass Fiber Reinforcement and therefore its super strong and robust. The integration of the battery prevents the whole electronics in case of dirt and other external influences.
