Resetting Security : The Revival of Public Domain National College of Arts, Lahore, Pakistan The thesis takes into consideration the war on terror that has breached and sabotaged our society with the concerns and threats raised by it. However, it is our own response to these concerns and threats which has done the greater damage. With the adaption of invasive security systems we have prolonged and reinforced the effects of war and created the need of an adequate, calculated and reasonable response to the issue for the revival of our society.

University Of Lahore
The Business School Lahore, Pakistan
Over the years the University of Lahore has expanded and now runs multiple blocks of buildings designated to its various departments. With growing number of students and requirements for the Business School Department the University of Lahore decided to build a new block. This new block, hence the project, would be called The Business School and will cater to its needs and requirements in particular. With increasing number of Department blocks, students and staff the university faced another challenge. The number of cars, hence the parking requirement, were increasing while the university was running out of space. Considering the topography of the site which is right next to the sports field, a long term solution was proposed. This proposal also shaped The Business School. A grid of 8 x 8 meter was set to run across the entire site including the playing field and the Business School. The columns on this grid will support the raised deck that will form the new sports field and will also support the Business School building. The project will be completed in phases staring with the Business School building.
Master Plan & Design Approach The Business School site on its west faces the Engineering Blocks separated by the road between them.

On the east is the boundary wall marking the end the University Land. The south and west sides are open with the existing sports field on the North and parking lot for University Buses and a petrol pump on the South. With the narrow pocket between the sunken sports field and bus parking a design approach with a grid of 8 x 8 meter was set to run across the entire site, south to north. This would include the existing sports field in the Master Scheme.

8 m x 8 m Grid New columns would be raised on this grid forming the foundation for the business school and the raised deck that will become the new sports field. Underneath the raised sports field , between the grid, will be the new parking that continues all the way under The Business School building. The proposed structure was pre-fabricated steel structure.

02 GREENTECH
101 - OFFICES Gulberg, Lahore, Pakistan
Greentech, official distributers for Samsung Pakistan, drafted a brief for its regional headquarters requiring a corporate store, backend and client facing facility, corporate offices for GREENTECH and for lease to long term corporate offices on the remaining floors. A central core with common services, circulation and connections was developed ensuring exterior views to the offices on all external sides.
CORE
OFFICE SPACE
VIEW
This was further facilitated with a voided flat slab system that would maximize spans and provide columns-less floor plates for offices. The design was approached with the vision of providing an all in all solution that would cater to the architectural, structural and MEP requirements for the building.

Considering that the design will have to adopt according to available space, potential clientage, location and accessiblity across the country, a modular design system wasadopted. The module was based on the standard vehicle size and the off-sets around them for circulation. This allowed the design to add or reduce the number of bays for cars as per requirement, demand and available space.
