Artificial Intelligence: Pushing the Boundaries of 2020 and Beyond Over the past decade, the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has seen an enormous amount of progress, infusing machines with the ability to think and learn as a human being would. But even so, the future of AI technology is vast, and in the coming years, Artificial Intelligence is sure to explode into one of the most important and lucrative technology branches.
What is Artificial Intelligence? For those who don't know, the Artificial Intelligence field is incredibly broad and encompasses several different aspects that, for the average person, are far too complicated to begin explaining. In a nutshell, AI is, as the name implies, making machines intelligent. And although it sounds like something out of a crazy science fiction movie, the feats that have been achieved in AI are incredibly impressive. With innumerable possibilities that are only limited by the imagination, the innovations in AI are not going to slow down any time soon.
How will AI evolve in the coming years? The global market for artificial intelligence is predicted to reach $118.6 billion by 2025. What is all this money going towards? For starters, a robotization is already an essential tool for many corporations, adding AI into the mix creates a multitude of new opportunities. Robots and similar machinery could begin to take over jobs that, previously, only humans would be capable of, including filling out tedious forms or even teaching. According to some reports, Japan's elderly care will be carried out by robots at a rate of over 80%. Robotization is, however, not the only route for companies to hop on the AI bandwagon. Artificial Intelligence can be used to increase cybersecurity with AI pattern recognition, improve customization to help brands remain relevant, and allowing for AI sophistication in data storage and access. And for your average joe who doesn't care about heightened cybersecurity or sophistication in data storage, AI can still be useful! As AI becomes more mainstream, it will become a more important part of everyday life. From AI tools to make life easier and even AI companions, Artificial Intelligence will soon be everywhere! Bill Gates said that AI's purpose is to be a friend and help to society, not to supersede it. And, as we've seen, it's unlikely that human lives will ever be detangled from the Artificial Intelligence they've created.
