01 FOLLY An exploration of the relationship between space and the human body at full scale using basic construction materials. Through iterative models and drawings we designed a temporary 8’x8’ construction that would accomodate multiple people while simultaneously remaining open and penetrable. Using a restricted number of 2x4’s and sheets of OSB, we utilized various jointery and assembly methods to erect our folly on campus in a major circulation area.

02 POETRY FOUNDATION Sited in the historical Over-The-Rhine neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio, the poetry foundation provides a welcoming and inclusive space for artists and writers living in the area. The program features a performance space for weekly poetry readings/contests, as well as a library and work space for visitors and employees. Using the adjacent buildings to generate forced-line diagrams, I conceptualized the architecture around a strict dialogue with the site conditions. The resulting study drawings/models ended up creating a web in which the building takes form, ensuring the final project fits its environment conceptually and pragmatically.

03 CASE STUDY Creating conceptual diagrams and models abstracting the major elements and moves of an important piece of architecture. Through extensive study and analysis of our case study building, we abstracted its fundamental make-up into three main componenets: primary space, entry sequence, and regulating lines. We then created a further abstraction of the building by assembling a representatonal model showing those elements through line, plane, and volume.

The Writers Theatre is a performance venue in Glenco, Illinois designed by the Chicago based architecture firm Studio Gang. Intended to fully integrate with the vibrant Chicago community, Writers Theatre is created around the desire to reflect the bustling arts and theatre scene that exists outside its walls. Encapuslated by a canopy walk with intricately patterned wooden trusses, the lobby space informs and activates the surrounding theatre and rehearsal areas while simultaneously serving a multi use purpose as an informal gathering and performance area.

04 HOUSE FOR A CHEF Inspired by the art of crafting recipes, hosting, and the idea that life and work can happily revolve around eachother, House for a Chef is a rowhouse project situated in the historic Pendleton neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio. The house features a work space for growing ingredients, experimenting with recipes, and serving guests. Living space including an office and library occupies the two end masses while the work space occupies the tilting, middle mass. The work space is rotated 45 degrees against the adjacent living spaces in order to create visual contrast between live and work and to allow natural light to filter through the voids created. The architecture adheres to a simple diagram: life and work are balanced by eachother.

01 FOLD + FORM A design build firm located in Downtown Cincinnati, Fold + Form specializes in modern residential design and renovations. As an intern I assisted in measuring and documenting existing site conditions for new projects that ranged from urban apartments to multi family homes. I also used programs such as AutocCAD to create as-built and construction drawings for current projects.

Renovation drawings for 112 Corwine St. in Over-the-Rhine, Ohio. Initial design iterations focused on creating better circulation throughout the unit in order to better connect the living, kitchen, and dining spaces. The second and third floor were designed to occupy the master bedroom and two air-bnb’s respectively.

Construction drawings for an existing historical apartment building in Over-the-Rhine, Ohio. Existing conditions of the building had to be documented to examine structural issues and potential for renovation, specifically locations of structural walls/columbs and existing electrical/plumbing locations.
