Brief History of Political T-shirts Are you Right-wing, Left-wing or just feeling ‘left out’? Are you a headbanger or deep thinker? Politics is more than what’s put on paper or placed in a ballot box; it’s also what you wear on your sleeve, no pun intended. Political tees have made their front prints on modern history, but just how far back do they go? We find that post-WWII society artists acquired a lot of material (and technologies) to work with, and in a few words, they gave birth to a new age of sloganeering. Andy Warhol’s legendary screen prints were some of the first to feature Mao Tse Tung, Seymour H. Knox, John Lennon, the Birmingham Race Riots and others on the big screen print. Roy Lichtenstein, also known as the "Pope of Pop”, made contributions to the comic strip as well as political tees. He even created around 300 screenprints in his lifetime. We’ve sewn together some of the terrible tee’s best moments: Via: http://www.allriot.com
