ASTRISUL 480

A broad antibiotic effective against infections due to gram negative and gram positive organisms in Cattle, Sheep, Goats, Poultry, Horses, Dogs and cats. Composition: Each gram contains Sulphadiazine B.P. 400 mg and Trimethoprim B.P. 80 mg. Indications Cattle: Bacterial scours, acute undifferentiated diarrhoea, joint ill & pneumonia in calves, endometritis, retention of placenta, Pyometra and repeat breeding due to uterine infection. Sheep and Goats: Joint ill, enterotoxemia, scours, black quarter, anthrax, uterine infections. Horses: Pneumonia, joint ill, anthrax, strangles, enteritis, peritonitis, infections of genital and urinary tracts. Dogs and Cats: Bronchitis, enteritis, pleurisy, secondary bacterial complication of canine distemper, urinary tract infections. Poultry: Mixed infection of gram-negative and gram-positive infections including E. coli, Salmonella and Campylobacter. Dosage and administration: Cattle, Sheep, Goats, Horses, Dogs and Cats: 1 gm/15 kg bwt for 5-7 days in divided dosage given in feed or water as drench. Poultry: Chicks: 1 gm/8-10 litres of water twice a day for 7 days. Adult birds: 1 gm/4-5 litres of water for 7 days. Precautions: Keep sufficient water available for adult birds and animals under treatment with this drug. Withdrawal period: Animals must not be slaughtered and milk should not be used for human consumption during treatment. The withdrawal periods after the last dose/treatment for all meat and milk producing animals are: Meat : 3 days. Milk & eggs : 7 days. Storage: Store at room temperature. Protect from direct sunlight Keep out of reach of children.
