What is Vetroxx? • Vetroxx active is based on a novel approach to antisepsis

• The active is based on the patented Citroxx technology So what is Citroxx comprised of? • Citroxx is a patented combination of small and large

bioflavanoid molecules in combination with carefully selected fruit acids at certain ratios. The end product results in proven antimicrobial activity, via the bioflavanoid molecules enhancing/potentiating the activity of the fruit acids

• Bioflavanoids are derived from the natural defence

mechanisms of citrus fruit, particularly in Vetroxx’s case Bitter Oranges (Citrus Aurantium)

• Fruit acids are produced from natural sources and are

widely accepted as preservatives and antimicrobials in a wide range of industries

Bioflavanoid enhanced fruit acids and their mode of action against microbes • Enzyme inhibition • Break surface-exposed adhesions • Work on cell wall polypeptides • Work on membrane bound enzymes • Complexing with extra cellular and soluble proteins • Disrupt microbial membranes • Inactivate microbial adhesions, enzymes, cell envelope transport proteins

Fruit acid activity is enhanced by the addition of selected bioflavanoids • Activity enhanced by bioflavanoids from the Bitter Orange

• Naringin and Neohesperidin especially enhance the activity

Properties of bioflavanoids • Polyphenolic compounds • Produced naturally by plants • Pigmentation • Antioxidative • Antimicrobial • Skin conditioning properties

Ancillary roles of fruit acids in Citroxx • Removal of ions (for example insoluble metal ions such as calcium, magnesium etc. present in hard water)

• Necessary control of pH - to control hydrogen ion activity

• Maintenance of the shelf life • Provision of a fully solubilised liquid matrix with well defined physical properties

The Vetroxx active ingredient Citroxx has excellent antimicrobial effectiveness and has been tested under dirty conditions. Also, it is approved for use for disinfectant purposes by the Department of Health (UK) which indicates its potency. Citroxx active has also been used to decontaminate fresh produce in leading high street supermarkets which demonstrates its safety.

The Vetroxx active (Citroxx) has been widely tested and proven against a wide range of microbes including: Bacteria Alternaria sp.
