MURTRYP 1050 FOR VERTENARY USE ONLY (Diminazene diaceturate and phenazone granules) Composition: Each 2.36 gm granules contains : Diminazene diacenturate B.P vet………………………….............1.05 gm (4.4 diazoamino , dibenzamidine diacenturate ) Phenazone B.P ……………………………………………………. 1.31 gm Properties: Diaminazene is a diamidine used as the diaceturate salt form. Murtryp 1050 is highly effective against trypanosomiasis and babesiosis . in combination with antibiotics. It can also be used in the treatment of Theiliriosis due to Theileria annuleta. It is epecially useful for the treatment of mixed protozoan infections. Phenazone ensures a complete solubility of the diminazene and acts as a support against inflammation and fever. Indications : Cattle, sheep, goats, horses and dogs : Treatment of protozoan diseases : • Trypanosomiasis due to trypanosoma congolense, T. vivax and T.brucei • Pyroplasmosis due to babesia bovis, B. bigemina, B. ovis, B. motasi & B. canis • Theileriosis due to Theileria annulata. Dosage and administration: Dosage: the recommended dosage is 3.5 mg of diminazene diacenturate per kg bodyweight as a single injection. Do not exceed a total of 4 gm of active ingredient in animal (or 9 gm of MURTRYP 1050) Administration: deep intramuscular injection. For 2.36 gm sachet : prepare the injectable solution by dissolving content of one 2.36 gm sachet of MURTRYP 1050 in 15 ml of water for injection. Cattle, sheep, goats and horses: inject the prepared solution as per the recommendations given below:

For infection with T. Brucei or other trypanosomes of tenacious nature use higher dose of 8 mg per kg body weight , but do not exceed a total dose of 4 gm of active ingredient per animal (or 9 gm of MURTRYP1050) Dog : reconstitute the injectable solution by adding 25 ml of water for injection to a 2.36gm sachet. Then inject 0.9ml of the reconstituted solution for 10kg body weight (as 3.5mg diminazene diaceturate per kg body weight) Contraindications: not for use in camel. Side effect: in case of large volume to be injected. It is recommended to devide and administer the dose into 2—3 separate sites. Inject dogs strictly according to body mass. Over dosage or repeated dosing may cause central nervous symptoms in dogs. Keep out of reach of children. Withdrawal period: treated animals must not be slaughtered for human consumptions for atleast 21 days after the administration of the last dose. Storage: sealed sachets should be stored below 30˚c in a dry place . The reconstituted solution can be stored for 15 days in a fridge in a closed glass bolttle.
