Aim My aim is to secure employment at a forward thinking design agency. I am most suited for a position within client services, although I also have a firm interest in planning and strategy. I’m

looking to gain practical knowledge from a creative team that cultivates fresh and dynamic ideas to solve problems and make an impact.

About I am 22 years old, having studied ‘Advertising and Media’ BA at Northumbria University for the past 3 years, in which I gained a 2:1. I’m interested in formulating branding strategies in order to strengthen, or create, positive messages and relationships. I’m also passionate about evolving brand identities to enhance a brand’s reputation.

I believe that great design can leave a lasting impression, and that too often companies settle for average creativity and generic strategies to fulfill their needs. I am currently interning at Dragon Rouge, London, and gaining a better understanding of the design industry through reading and research.

Skills I know how to work within a team - I have the ability to work with and improve other people’s ideas, just as well as I can create my own. I understand that a patchwork of ideas can produce an excellent end product. I know how to get involved with a brand - I automatically think ‘brand and consumer’ rather than ‘headline and visual’, that part comes later. Understanding a brand and prospective consumer leads to stronger ideas, ideas with impact. I know how to problem solve - I never set myself a challenge that I know I can easily achieve. Why would I? There is limited fun and reward. I believe risks must be taken, so long as they are calculated and balanced. It’s better to be smart and gutsy, than smart and safe in this industry, surely?

I know how to research - I believe that it’s important old methods are still used. The power of conversation should not be underestimated, whether that be with consumers or clients. I believe that maximum research = maximum results. I know how to apply myself - I’m self-disciplined and a hard worker. If I have a deadline to meet, I always do my upmost to stick to it, no matter what. I know how to communicate with clients - I very much enjoy being the ‘face of an agency’, and I understand the importance of maintaining (and developing) strong client-agency relationships.

I know what is ‘in’ - By this I mean trends, whether that be music, fashion, or the design industry, I know what is going on, who’s doing what, and why. My subscriptions to ‘Brand Republic’, ‘Design Week’ and ‘Campaign’ allow me to follow events from the industry.
