A common questions people ask are: •
"How can I find information about my computer?"
•
"How much RAM Memory do I have?"
•
"What’s the name of my graphics card?"
I love these kinds of questions because they are really simple to learn!
There are actually a lot of ways to see your computer features.
Let’s start with the simplest one, which is “dxdiag” or DirectX Diagnostic.
To run DirectX diagnostic, go to the start menu and write “dxdiag”. The following window will show up.
As you can see in the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window, you get an overview of everything about your computer. It includes your operating system, system model, processor, graphics card, etc.
Another way of finding information is to right click the "Computer" icon on your desktop and select "Properties". The following window will show up.
Using this method, you can find information about your processor, installed memory, system type, and the computer name.
Have you ever heard about System Information? If not, then you should know that it’s a very useful way to get information about your computer. Using system information you can find a lot of stuff, including: display information, mode, and storage.
So far, every method included in this tutorial can be used without installing anything. However, there are plenty of software that can be used to access information about your computer. My favorite is System Information for Windows (SIW) and Speccy.
