Designing with user in mind is something that I am strongly passionate about. I believe that creativity strives with people in mind and a good design is unjustiable until users’ accedence. My goal as a designer would be to create sparks through my creativity along with users’ needs.

APC . SOLD KNIGHTSBRIDGE
P H I L O S O P H Y A.P.C is a brand that is very charismatic in nature and is known for its down-to-earth aesthetics and austere approach in design. Their goal is to create a discreet brand that breaks away from unnecessary ornamentation that distract users to the beauty of simplicity. They believe that a design should never be too loud and take over one’s personality. With their deeply rooted ideology of conservatism, they remain powerful and uncorrupted till today.

In response to their brand identity and philosophy, I have derived ‘Utilitarian Glamour’ as my keyword, focusing on creating spatial elements utilizing brass grid patterns that juxtapose with the concrete consistently throughout the entire space, creating a continuity of flow which provides a unique and effortless experience for the users. Acknowledging the dissimilarity of ‘Utilitarian’ and ‘Glamour’, a balance is achieved with the rawness of the concrete and lushness of the brass which represent strength and beauty that encompasses A.P.C’s designs.

A home that heavily emphasizes on storages and practicality was the owner’s request. Extending from the main door to the living area is a continuous stretch of cabinets, with mirror doors in the middle adjacent to the corridor, creating an imaginary line of separation of the dining from living space. The warm textures, neutral colour palette and clean lines gives an understated elegance to this contemporary home.

rials like slatted light oak panels, grey fabric wall panels and soft light streaks celebrated throughout to create a feeling of ease and comfort to the otherwise mechanical and hygienic environment. Users and visitors will be greeted with soft streak lighting that is in line with the slatted light oak in a vertical arrangement upon entering, giving the space a soft and welcoming feel. The repetitive use of light streaks together with the vertical slatted panels creates a subtle sense of rhythm that guides them into different space. the use of low cabinets and lowered false ceiling beams were intended to create divisions between spaces, and yet remain visibility between patients and nurses. Ate the centre of each dialysis bay, there will be an interactive round-edge bench for the visitors and tall indoor feature plants in the middle that double up as a privacy screen for users. Our desire for this project is to create a ‘calming retreat’ and a holistic healthcare experience through design for the patients.
