BBB is funded by BIRAC under the BioNEST (Bioincubators Nurturing Entrepreneurship for Scaling Technologies) scheme, managed and operated by Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) which is recognised as an institute of national importance by the Parliament of India and is a Category II centre under the auspices of UNESCO.

Introduction to Biotech Incubation and Bio-Incubator
Over the last few years, a significant momentum has been seen in the startup ecosystem of the country especially in the field of Biotechnology. With a vision to foster the biotech innovation in the country, BIRAC (Biotechnology Industrial Research Assistance Council) has launched a strategic program Bio-NEST to create bioincubators at various strategic locations. Bioincubators play an important role in providing the much needed support in terms of infrastructure, mentorship, networking etc. to the entrepreneurs as well as to the startup companies. Some of the bioincubators also invest in specific startups so that more profit could be generated through equity shares in the startups.
Moreover, they also provide desired trainings as well as services to the startup companies. To put in simple words, it can be said that an incubator is indeed a great platform to counter the risk during an entrepreneurial journey. When it comes to the prominent biotechnology incubators, the list would be incomplete without adding the name of Bio-Incubator of NCR Biotech Science cluster, Faridabad which is managed and operated by Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB). RCB is an academic institution established by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India with regional and global partnerships synergizing with the program of UNESCO as a Category II Centre. The primary focus of RCB is to provide world class education, training and conduct innovative research at the interface of multiple disciplines to create high quality human resource in disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas of biotechnology in a globally competitive research milieu.
