Textbook Correlations to the AP Biology Curriculum Framework In order to help AP Biology teachers use their textbooks most effectively, we asked the publishers to correlate their texts with the Essential Knowledge statements listed in our new AP Biology Curriculum Framework. These Essential Knowledge statements support the Enduring Understandings, which articulate the core content of the curriculum. Further, we asked publishers to indicate if their content addresses the “illustrative examples” that offer teachers a variety of optional instructional contexts to help their students achieve deeper understanding. Finally, we asked publishers to indicate what content in their textbooks does not need to be covered in the AP Biology course. We hope you will find these correlations helpful as you plan a course that best fits your teaching needs.
