NEEDLESAND EXTRAS

1 long pair 4.50mm Knitting Needles, or size that gives correct tension. Ayarn needle.

TENSION

21 sts to 10cm in width over garter st, using 4.50mm needles.

BLANKET

Using 4.50mm needles and C1, cast on 190 sts.

** Using C1, knit in garter st (1st row is RS) for 5 cm, working last row on WS.

Using C2, knit in garter st for 5 cm, working last row on WS.

Using C3, knit in garter st for 5 cm, working last row on WS.

Using C4, knit in garter st for 5 cm, working last row on WS.

Using C5, knit in garter st for 5 cm, working last row on WS. **

Rep from ** to ** until work measures approx 75 cm from beg, ending with 5 cm of C5 on WS. Using C1, knit in garter st for 5 cm, working last row on WS. Cast off loosely knitways. Side Borders – With RS facing, using 4.50mm and C1, knit up 136 sts evenly along one side edge of blanket. Knit in garter st until side border measures 4 cm, working last row on WS. Cast off loosely knitways. Work other side edge in same manner.

FINISHING

Using yarn needle, sew in ends towards to centre of blanket rather than along side edges.
