DRUNKARD’S PATH BLOCKS With right sides facing, layer a Template B piece on top of Template A piece in correspopnding fabrics. Insert a pin through center matching points to align. Pin together edges at each end; then pin in between, gently easing edges as needed to align. Sew curved edges together. Press seams. Trim to 4 ½” square.

RIVIERA HANDBAG ASSEMBLY Sew two DRUNKARD’S PATH BLOCKS to 9 x 2 ¾“ Shell Garden piece. Follow the diagram below for block placement.

NOTE: You can choose to have any fabric for back side of the back, repeat this pattern or make a variation of this pattern if desired. We did a slight variation in fabric placement.

Stitch backing fabric or pieced backing panel to one side of the bag’s front panel. Take 17 x 33” piece of lining fabric. With right sides together, place top edges of lining and bag’s front piece together and stitch along the top edge. Press seam open. Cut Bosal Light Fusible Batting and fuse it to the bag’s

front. Fold lining over batting and quilt bag panel as desired. Trim edges to the size of the bag’s front.

SIDE SEAM Take 2” binding strip from Corallium fabric. Press it in half lengthwise. Fold bag panel with right side facing. Pin binding along the side seam and sew all layers together. Press binding over to cover side seam. Top stitch along the edge of the binding.

RIVIERA HANDBAG Sew bottom of the bag together using binding in the same manner to cover the seams. To make the bottom corners, flatten one side of the bag against the bottom with the seams lined up. Pin and sew across the corner seam together with the binding. Fold binding over and stitch it in place folding the ends of the binding under for neat finish.
BAG HANDLES Cut four strips 4 x 2” to attach the bag handles.
With wrong sides facing, fold the these pieces in half lengthwise and iron. Open, fold edges into the middle and iron. Fold strap in half again, iron and top stitch along one side. Fold it over the loops on bag’s handles and secure handles in place.
