Make 4 of these blocks and sew them end to end.

Sandwich backing fabric, batting and pieced top. Pin all layers together. Machine or hand quilt.

Join 3¼” strips from Kew Bloom on diagonal. Pin the strip to the edge of the pieced center approx. 3” away from the corner. Start stitching strip, leaving approx. 2” tail. Keep sewing until you reach a corner of the pieced center , and stop ¼” before the corner.

Fold the strip away in a motion of 45°, pressing with your fingers. Hold this fold, bring the strip in line with batting edge. Fold it over and start sewing at ¼” of the border, stitching all the layers. Do the same in the four corners.

Stop stitching before you reach the last 2”. Lay the loose ends of the binding flat along the edge, folding the ends back on themselves where they meet. Press them together to form a crease. Using this crease as the stitching line, sew binding pieces together. Trim excess fabric and complete stitching. Press, turn binding to the back, fold under seam allowance. Press and topstitch along the edges of the binding.
