WE’RE BIRDHAUS CO. . BIRDHAUS CO. IS A LITTLE DESIGN SHOP THAT SPECIALIZES IN wedding and special event stationery. Not only do we aim to deliver you awesome work, we want your invitations to be the most seamless—and most fun—task in all your event planning. We aim to set a new standard for wedding invitations by providing a high-quality product and great design at an affordable price. In a day where wedding costs are through the roof, we want to make great wedding stationery design accessible to more couples. In addition to weddings, we offer custom design service for special events such as baby showers, announcements, birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, and more. • Heather Germann and Annette Drapac first met while studying visual communications at Ohio University. After countless all-nighters and an inspiring adventure to Germany in 2010, the two knew they’d one day start a business together.

HOW WE'LL WORK . MEET ‘N GREET We’ll set up an initial meeting with you where we get to tell you a few bad jokes and see if we’re a good fit for each other. After all, you’ll be putting up with us for a couple months!

MONEY Payments are broken into three phases. 25% is due when you first approve the estimate. 50% is due upon digital design approval. We ask that you pay the final 25% upon shipment.

process
STYLE We’ll create a moodboard based on the inspiration you’ve shared with us. It will include ideas for designs, colors, and layouts. Then, we’ll confirm we’re on the same page for the look and feel. COPY Before we start designing, we ask you to provide us the information you want on each piece of the suite. Working with the correct language helps us keep design revisions to a minimum. ROUND 1 We’ll create two different invitation designs and email you a digital proof. Then, you’ll pick your favorite direction and note any revisions to be made. ROUND 2 We’ll revise the design you like best and send it back to you to finalize the invitation.

ROUND 3 After you’ve approved the invitation design, we’ll send you the full suite of pieces outlined in your quote. Minor tweaks may be made during this round. PROOFS After any final changes, we’ll send you another digital proof. When you give the go-ahead, we’ll print a physical proof and send to you for your review. PRINT When you’re satisfied with the physical proof, we’ll do one last internal review, press check, and go to print! SHIP We’ll package up your finished suite and ship it off to you or deliver if you’re nearby.

However, if you are having a destination wedding or most guests will be travelling to your wedding, a good rule of thumb is three months ahead. We love meeting people in person, but if you are located outside of Ohio, we’d still be thrilled to meet you virtually. It’s 2015, people–let’s do this!

Turnaround time for most custom invitation suites range from six to eight weeks. This time includes initial consulting, the design process, and the production process. Timing will vary on the number of pieces in the suite and complexity of the design.
W H AT I S T H E P R I C E R A N G E F O R C U S T O M I N V I TAT I O N S ? To engage in a custom invitation project, we require a minimum order of $300.
H O W L O N G W I L L I T TA K E MY ORDER TO SHIP? We will notify you by email the same day we’ve shipped your order. Typically orders in Ohio are delivered within two days. Orders outside of Ohio may take up to five days to arrive.

IS THERE AN EXTENDED TURNAROUND TIME IF I H AV E M Y E N V E L O P E S ADDRESSED? Yes, we require an extra week from your original turnaround time for addressing. H O W A R E M Y I N V I TAT I O N S PRINTED? We print orders in our studio using high-quality, professional printing equipment. Each suite is printed on the superior paper stock of your choice, with vibrant colors produced from 8-ink color technology. We also cut and trim your pieces to perfection in-house. We inspect each piece to ensure our highest quality product is provided to you. D O M Y I N V I TAT I O N S COME ASSEMBLED? No, invitation suites do not come pre-assembled, but can be requested as an additional service. Please contact us if you would like us to pre-assemble your invitation suites for you.
