I’m delighted to share with you our next batch of gigs at Eastside Jazz Club. Be sure to get in early for the guest nights which have been approaching capacity crowds in most cases. The Exit Velocity sessions are your chance to experiment with some currently unknown names that are hotly tipped to be the significant movers and shakers of the future jazz scene, so get in quick and be the first to hear them!

Pianist Nick Adams and his band experiments with links between jazz, funk and hip hop, taking inspiration from musicians such as Darryl Reeves, George Colligan, Roy Hargrove and Robert Glasper. Join them on a journey of explorative grooves and harmonies.

£8 (£6) Superb trombonist alumnus, Tom Dunnett brings together a sextet of up and coming London musicians and graduates on the Birmingham scene.
Inspired by the Bill Evans Trio and the concept of ‘collective improvisation’, the Mikey Gee Quartet takes a relaxed approach to playing. This allows each member to contribute however they see fit in any given moment, whilst upholding and being part of a collective sound.

£12 Tickets available via www.thsh.co.uk This one off performance sees Gonimoblast collaborate with a brass ensemble of friends and allies, to play new music written by bassist Chris Mapp. Additionally Annie Mahtani (BEAST) will use the surround sound system to specialise the performance with an immersive visual reaction to the music from Chromatouch. It’s safe to say you won’t have heard or seen anything like this before. Stillefelt, also led by Chris, merges written material with improvised passages, liberal use of guitar effects pedals and audio processing to create sound beds for soaring trumpet and guitar lines over hypnotic grooves.
