PRINCIPAL MESSAGE FROM OUR

OUR VISION

To shape a generation of creative and resilient global citizens – a generation that will change our world for the better.

OUR SOCIAL PURPOSE

At BIS Hanoi, our students and their families are part of an inclusive, respectful, and caring community. We believe our students should make a positive contribution to the world and understand their responsibility as global citizens.

As you will see from the sentences above which come straight out of our school guiding statements, BIS Hanoi is deeply committed to making a positive difference in the world. We know that this begins with ourselves and then extends beyond that to the relationships we have within our families, our classrooms, and the society in which we live. We also believe that this change can impact beyond borders and become global.

Mahatma Gandhi famously said ‘Be the change you want to see in the world.’

Our students, staff and parents want to extend our school’s moral values of care, respect, and integrity beyond our school’s boundaries. This publication represents a summary of the current local partners we have so far engaged to widen the spheres of our influence within Vietnam. We are also committed to establishing sustainable regional and global partnerships, but our priority remains in Vietnam where there is much to do together.

Thank you for reading this and considering the unique part you can play in changing the world for the better.

To this day, the most memorable experience I have participated in occurred when I was in Primary. I was working together with a child with disabilities on a task.

HEAR FROM OUR COMMUNITY

“Being enrolled in BIS Hanoi for a long time, I have seen multitudes of different events happening around school for charitable purposes ranging from small events like sale fundraising to interactive activities.

To this day, the most memorable experience I have participated in occurred when I was in Primary. I was working together with a child with disabilities on a task. It was a moment that inspired me as I had an excellent time doing these activities without even considering it as ‘work’. From then on, I always loved interacting with others whilst also helping to contribute to society by accomplishing the SDG goals. Overall, what inspires me the most is knowing that I have made a societal impact that could help others.”

Linh Chi Tran Secondary Student

I’m pleased to see my children not only excel academically at BIS Hanoi but embrace a great community mindset nurtured through everyday lessons at school.

“I’m pleased to see my children not only excel academically at BIS Hanoi but embrace a great community mindset nurtured through everyday lessons at school. That transformed into my daughter’s Chalk Road initiative aimed to foster holistic education in mountainous regions of Vietnam. Gia Khanh formed a team with 2 other Y11 students and a team of 10 more volunteers from other high schools in Hanoi to raise public funds USD3,000 last summer to help build a school library to embrace lifelong studies, implement a 3-day full of activities including a career-orientation seminar for 300 students in Dieu Luong secondary school, located in mountainous Cam Khe commune, Phu Tho province. It was a complete success that subsequently earned Chalk Road an amazing social impact grant of $9,000 from Nord Anglia Education, 1st of a kind in BIS Hanoi.”
