The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) prohibits Bismarck State College from releasing academic and financial records to anyone without written consent from you. If you would like anyone, such as parents/guardians, employers and/or Thirdparty funding agencies to have access to your academic and/or financial information complete the FERPA form to authorize the release.

Check your BSC email frequently in order to stay current with academic and financial communications as well as college events.

After Registration Obtain Mystic ID Card ACTION ITEM 1. Obtain your Mystic ID Card The Mystic card is your official college identification card to be used for services such as dining, bookstore purchases, library, campus activities, local business discounts, Aquatic and Wellness Center and Mystic Print. There is no charge for the first Mystic ID Card. ID cards do not expire as long as you are a BSC student. Get your Mystic Card at the Campus Information Desk located next to the BSC Bookstore in the upper level of the Student Union. (701-224-5677) Students must present: • • •

After Registration Complete Entrance Counseling and Loan Agreement (MPN) This only applies to students accepting loans for the first time. If you complete this for the summer semester, you will not have to complete this again for the fall semester. You must complete the Entrance Counseling and MPN before you can charge books against your financial aid or use your meal plan.
ACTION ITEMS 1. Go to Studentaid.gov 2. Complete Entrance Counseling. 3. Complete Master Promissory Note (MPN). Entrance Counseling: Before receiving a student loan, borrowers must complete an entrance counseling session. This quick and easy interactive counseling session provides useful tips and tools to help you develop a budget for managing your educational expenses and helps you to understand your loan responsibilities. Master Promissory Note (MPN): The Loan Agreement is a legal document in which you promise to repay your loan(s) and any accrued interest and fees to the U.S. Department of Education. It also explains the terms and conditions of your loan(s). Please note that your accepted Federal Student Loans will not disburse to your student account until these items are completed.
