PARTICIPANT BROCHURE
WELCOME Welcome to our 43rd annual conference!
As the chair of the 2022 Energy Progress & Innovation Conference, I take great pride in welcoming you and all of our attendees back to the Bismarck Event Center after a long two years apart. Although two years is just a short span in the grand scheme of things, it’s a lifetime in the world of energy. Technology, procedures, operational jobs and so much more have changed, and it’s time to reconnect. At our 2020 conference, the EPIC planning committee welcomed over 240 vendor companies in 300+ booths. In total we had over 2,000 participants. 2021 gave us a different experience with our first-ever virtual conference. We had great support from industry with 34 sponsors and 400 participants. The sponsors and participants were truly the reason we can come back together in 2022. Our schedule and speakers for 2022 include keynote speaker Bill Sims Jr., of Green Bean Leadership. Bill is an author and leadership keynote who will discuss the idea of Zero Injuries, the “Holy Grail” of safety. As he says, “Some of the finest safety cultures meet the goal of Zero Injuries,
only to find that a tragic event shatters Zero, leaving it a hollow memory of what was, but no longer is. Why does this happen?” Wednesday and Thursday of the conference will again feature a closing session. This session will be for recognition of our Excellence Awards (Safety, Operations, Maintenance). They will be followed up with a presentation by Michael Nasi of Jackson Walker, who will speak on U.S. Energy Reliability Outlook, discussing power failures in the winter of 2021, steps to take to avoid future failures, and more. We will again offer our punch cards to participants for the grand prize drawing ($2,000 towards a trip for two) each day, and will also recognize the BSC student scholarship recipients. It will be great to be back in Bismarck this January and we hope you can join us. We are looking forward to reconnecting with our industry partners again!
