Diagnostic Medical Sonography
A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, also known as a sonographer, utilizes a transducer, which uses sound waves to obtain images of various organs and tissues in the body. The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program prepares you to perform abdominal, superficial, gynecological, obstetrical, and vascular ultrasounds during clinical internship experiences. You will put your classroom knowledge to the test in a real-world environment, preparing you for the career opportunities waiting for you after graduation. $72K AVERAGE SALARY
Medical Laboratory Technician
If you enjoy science, technology and the challenges of problem solving, learn how to work behind the scenes as a vital part of a healthcare team. The analytical procedures medical laboratory technicians serve as the basis for 7580% of all medical decisions made by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The curriculum at BSC allows you to begin employment after graduation or transfer into a four-year medical laboratory science program. Options include two-year or three-year curriculum. With a stackable program option, you can begin your healthcare career with a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training at BSC. Upon graduation, you can earn an 11-month Practical Nursing Certificate, then advance to the Associated Degree Nurse (ADN) program and go on to earn a Registered Nurse (RN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Classroom education is delivered by instructors on campus and from other colleges in the Dakota Nursing consortium through the Interactive Video Network (IVN). Paramedic Technology
If you are someone who is caring, empathetic and can stay calm under pressure, learn to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP). People’s lives often depend on the quick reaction and competent care of EMTs, AEMTs and paramedics. Varied emergencies such as auto accidents, heart attacks, strokes, childbirth, gunshot wounds and diabetic emergencies all require immediate medical attention. Surgical Technology
If you want to become an integral member of the patient’s surgical team, a strong technical understanding of surgical procedures is essential for the well-being of patients. That’s why Surgical Technologists are vital and why they’re in high demand throughout the nation in hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and clinics. At BSC, you’ll learn how to ensure patient safety in settings that involve invasive procedures and gain expertise in the theory and use of sterile and aseptic techniques. Then, after graduating, you can apply your knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, instruments and technology to play a critical role in the operating room.

CERTIFICATES CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)
Become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) through BSC’s training program that will prepare you for the responsibilities of being a nursing assistant. The 80-hour program is offered in the evening. CNA licensure or EMT certification is strongly suggested for students applying to the BSC Nursing program.
CMA (Certified Medical Assistant)
Work in a variety of medical settings as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). As a Medical Assistant, you’ll perform administrative tasks such as managing business affairs of the practice, scheduling appointments, medical reception, billing, and act as a patient advocate and navigator. Medical Assistants also assist the provider in performing clinical skills of patient documentation, procedure preparation, diagnostic testing, collecting specimens, pharmacology management, and basic first aid.
Dialysis Technician
Get trained as a Dialysis Technician to become a medical expert in the operation of dialysis machines while working under the supervision of a nurse or physician. As a Dialysis Technician you will monitor patients undergoing dialysis treatment, ensure usage of the machine is safe and secure, and adjust patient fluid removal rates as required. Most dialysis technicians work in hospitals, health clinics and dialysis centers.
EMT (Emergency Medical Training)
Complete an EMT Certificate of Completion. As an EMT you will provide entry-level patient care and provide life support with ambulance services, fire departments, law enforcement, security and a variety of other settings. With an EMT certification you can advance to the higher levels of Emergency Medical Services certification such as the paramedic.

DUAL CREDIT & EARLY ENTRY
Dual Credit students enroll in a college course to receive both college and high school credit. These courses are usually taken at the high school or via interactive video. Early Entry students enroll in a college course to receive both college and/or high school credit. These courses are usually taken at the high school, BSC campus or online.
MILITARY
BSC awards credit for Military Training Programs as outlined by the American Council on Education (ACE).
CLEP/AP
With CLEP (College-Level Examination Program), a student can earn college credit for what they already know on any of 34 CLEP examinations. AP (Advanced Placement) courses are taken in high school. Students can receive college credit if they earn a 3 or higher on the exam.
PRIOR LEARNING
Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) provides an opportunity for adults to earn college credit for knowledge and competencies they’ve gained outside the classroom.
