Tanzilya Nigmatullina, Rector of the Bashkir Institute of Social Technologies in Ufa, Russia, a city of around one million people 1170 km south-east of Moscow, touched on key regional factors, mentioning programmes to develop tolerance in the workplace for the large numbers of economic migrants from Central Asia and other former Soviet regions currently living and working in Russia.
