Dots: Make 6 with black and G hook ch2, 6sc in 2nd ch. Cut off and sew 3 to each wing before attaching wings to body. Head: with black and G hook 1– ch6, join to make a circle, ch1, 12sc in circle, join 2- (sc in 1, 2sc in next) 5 times, sl st in 2, join. Sew flat edge to body. Antennae (and legs) for all bugs unless otherwise noted: with black, tie a knot to the end of yarn, string onto head or body around a post, tie a knot to secure the antennae or leg, repeat one more time for second antennae, or several times for legs. Designers note: (I never tie off each one individually. I always do them in pairs. I will do the first leg or antennae, then I will slip the yarn needle inside the body and come up at the next spot and tie the yarn around the next post I want it to go around, then I will tie the knot that will be the foot or the top of the antennae and cut off.)

Handle: with Tea Leaf Green and G hook 1– ch 6, sc in 2nd ch and each (5) 2-40– ch1, turn, sc in each. -edge sides of handle in evenly spaced sc.

Bumble Bee: Body: with black and G hook 1– (RS) ch2, 4sc in 2nd ch (4) 2– sc in each (4) *make sure you pull your right side through before continuing. 3– 2sc in each (8) 4- (sc in 1, 2sc in next) around (12)

(12) 3– ch1, turn, (sc in 1sc, 2sc in next) twice, 2hdc in 3sc, repeat () twice, join with last sc 4– ch1, turn, skip sl st, sl st in 3 st, sc in 3 st, hdc in 2 st, 2dc in 2 st, hdc in 2 st, sc in 3 st, sl st in 3 st. Cut, leaving a long end for sewing. Sew wings to back. Embroider face. Black eyes with a white accent and a black smile. Use Antennae/Leg instructions from page 3.

Eyes: Make 2 with white and G hook 1– ch3, sc in 2nd ch, 3sc in next, 2sc in open loops of first ch. (6) cut off, embroider black to bottom half of eye. Sew bottom half of eye to head, leaving the top to stick out Nose: w/nose color and G hook attach with a slip stitch and ch1 to sc post between the bottom edge of eyes. Sc once around post, sl st around the same post. Cut off and tuck in ends. Embroider smile with nose color. Dragonfly: with body color and G hook Body: 1– ch2, 6sc in 2nd ch (6) 2– 2sc in each (12) 3- (sc in 1sc, 2sc in next) around (18) 4-5– sc in each 6- (sc in 1sc, sc dec) around (12) 7– sc in each 8- (sc in 1sc, sc dec) around (8) 9– FLO, 2sc in 4sc, Both Loops, sc in 4sc (12) 10-12– sc in each. STUFF and keep stuffing as you go. 13– sc dec 4 times, sc in 4sc (8) 14-20– sc in each 21– sc dec 4 times (4) Eyes: with black and F hook Attach w/sl st around post to one side of the head. Sc 6 evenly spaced in a tight circle around sc posts. Cut, weave ends to close eye. Repeat for the other side. Accent with white yarn. Wings: with white and G hook Left wings: Make 2 1– ch15, making one stitch per chain (starting at the 2nd ch from the hook) follow this progression: sl st, sc, hdc, dc 2 times, hdc, sc, hdc, dc 2 times, trc, dc, hdc, sc. Finish off. Slip stitch “color” across the top of the wing. This helps add color and stability to the wing. Right wings: Make 2 1– ch15, (following protocol for left wing): sc, hdc, dc, trc, dc 2times, hdc, sc, hdc, dc 2 times, hdc, sc, sl st. Finish off. Repeat slip stitch color. Sew wings to back according to picture. Use Antennae/Leg instructions from page 3 to finish

Ladybug: with red and G hook Body: 1– ch2, 6sc in 2nd ch (6) 2– 2sc in each (12) 3- (sc in 1sc, 2sc in next) around (18) 4- (sc in 2sc, 2sc in next) around (24) 5-6– sc in each sc. Cut red. 7– BLO, switch to black, (sc in 2sc, sc dec) around (18) 8– Both Loops, (sc in 1sc, sc dec) around (12) STUFF 9– sc dec around (6) Finish off. With red, sl st in open loops of row 7. Finish off Head: repeat body rows 1-2 3-4- sc in each sc 5- (sc in 1sc, sc dec) around (8) Finish off, STUFF, sew on to body Embroider eyes and smile in white. Accent eyes with black. Dots: Make 5 with black and G hook
