• WELCOME • Welcome to the Penticton Art Gallery and our 37 th annual fundraising auction. This is our largest and most important fundraiser of the year and I can’t express enough just how important this event is to the gallery and our ability to deliver our annual schedule of exhibitions and programs. It’s also through events such as this that one really appreciates just how many amazing people we have in our community who are willing and able to step up and help make this all possible. As you are reading this the hard part is done, after months of planning we hope that we haven’t forgotten anything and the show must go on. If this is your first time attending one of our events I hope and trust it will meet all your expectations and then some and I hope you will continue to come out to our gallery functions. That being said our next event will take place less than a week from today on Friday July 11th from 7 – 9 pm, when we will have turned the entire gallery around for the opening of our next three exhibitions. Nothing would make me happier than seeing you all there. For those who are returning to this event once again I thank you for your continued and sustained support. You may also notice that we have made some significant changes to the format. The idea being we get the business parts of the evening out of the way first allowing us all to enjoy each other’s company and celebrate all our community has to offer. This is first and foremost a celebration of our community and the incredible creativity we are so lucky to find here. I wish you all a fun night and I ask that you bid often and don’t feel bad if you don’t win as an auction needs two parties to be a success. There are some incredible things lurking in and amongst the live and silent auctions so please take your time and make certain you don’t let anything slip past you. If you find you just can’t live without something and your bidding gets the better of you we can spread out your payments over a number of months if that will help you out. Thanks again to all the incredible people who have helped behind the scenes to bring this whole thing together as it is truly only a success due to the sum of the parts. Thanks to the artists and individuals who have donated all the items you are bidding on tonight, the vendors who are sharing their culinary talents, the Naramata Bench Winery Association and their member wineries, our sponsors, Cannery Brewing, Stuart Bish Photography, Stephanie Seaton Photography, Kerry Younie and your incredible team who I have identified later in the catalogue, my staff; Glenn, Brooke, Dawn, Victoria, Andrea, Jacinta, the Darelectones, our board of directors, this year’s auction committee, Nicholas Vincent; Daniel Lo, Dan Tweyman, Kerry Younie, Brigitte Liapis, Karen Brownlee, Karen Davy; Gayle Cornish, our incredible list of volunteers who will be listed in our next ArtsLetter and to all those who purchased tickets and helped spread the word. Without your help, time, belief and support this would not have been possible. Have a great evening and be safe and should you need a ride home please let someone know and we will make arrangements to get you home safe and sound. Hope to see you all more over the next year and with luck at our opening next Friday July 11th. Remember have fun and bid often it’s just as much fun as winning. Cheers, Paul

2012 Pinot Gris After getting off to a slow and wet start, 2012 delivered three warm and sunny months allowing us to harvest Pinot Gris before the fall rain began. An excellent year for white grapes, producing lush ripe fruit and ample tonnage. This year`s Pinot Gris was hand picked from Margaretta Vineyards and Drunken Dog Vineyards, both located on the Naramata Bench.
