bksb is coming to a city near you As part of our ongoing initiatives to support you towards high achievement for functional skills English, mathematics and ICT, bksb is delighted to announce that we are once again offering a number of FREE events to support education providers. Following the highly successful events in 2011, which saw around 500 people attend, the 2012 events will be held in the cities listed below in May. The FREE bksb Functional Skills Tour events are being held to meet with high demand from around the country. They will focus on how your organisation can achieve outstanding functional skills outcomes. • • • • •

This session will explain the key concepts of functional skills, and offer guidance on how to embed a whole-organisation approach. It will look at functional skills examination papers in order to set the scene for what skills learners will need to develop. 10.10 – 10.30
COFFEE and REFRESHMENTS
A chance to network and have a chat with the bksb team about how we can support you and your learners. 10.30 – 11.30
SESSION TWO:
This session will provide some brief background to the bksb solution, then go on to cover new developments and innovations such as:
• bksbLIVE: The outstanding online functional skills platform which guides learners through a journey of assessment, • development and achievement. • Brand new Diagnostic Assessments in which almost all questions are part of a functional scenario. • functional skills standards and link into a huge range of targeted, interactive learning resources. For those who have an interest in other specific areas of skills assessment and development:
• ESOL Initial Assessment, Diagnostic Assessment • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Initial Assessment and evidence generating activities • Dyslexia Quick Check 11.30 – 11.50
