BLACKARTPROJECTS & TOM O’HERN PRESENT
B L A C K
Sydney Contemporary Carriageworks 245 Wilson Street Eveleigh, New South Wales 10 - 13 September, 2015
Heya, sorry for the delay. Here are the images. I’ll get some words through tonight, but essentially they are pictures of Australian megafauna, but they’re inbred and they’ve got facial tumors and they’ve been hit by cars and they’re struggling. The big image is modelled on The Fall of the Rebel Angels (one of Bruegel’s works from the 16th century) and is meant to depict a great big extinction level event; be that the great dying of the dinosaurs or whatever it is around the corner waiting for us. The titles are all drawn from Buddhist and Hindu and Christian philosophy. They’re kind of taking the piss, but I was also trying to show just how meaningless and futile everything is compared to the great crush of time. Anyway hope you like them. -Tom
