Chris Moyles part of marketing initiative

STAFF at Close Brothers Motor Finance helped make sick and underprivileged children smile by raising more than £6,000 for the UK’s largest annual toy appeal.

Close Brothers hooked up with UK charity Cash for Kids to support its Mission Christmas appeal. Staff collectively raised £4,700 and gave more than 2,000 gifts. The company added £1,470 to match-fund employee donations, taking the total to £6,170.

MOTOR manufacturers and pan-European lenders are the target market for iVendi’s new international, multi-lender motor finance calculator.

CEO James Tew said: ‘We’re calling this our “universal quoting tool” because it literally can be added to almost any existing online car sales platform in any market.’ It’s currently formatted for the UK and Germany, but Spain, France and Italy will follow soon.

NEW Chinese EV brands have been backed to kickstart the UK’s stuttering new car market by an industry expert.

Alex Wright, pictured, MD of Shoreham Vehicle Auctions, says incoming Chinese outfits such as BYD are bringing ‘a very strong proposition’ that could threaten the established brands’ positions.

He said OEMs risked losing sales and market share if they didn’t increase production capacity.

MOTORS.CO.UK has launched a new multi-media marketing campaign in a bid to boost its profile and support its dealer partners.

As part of the year-long initiative, the firm has become the headline sponsor of The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X, which attracts more than a million listeners every week.

It sees the brand integrated into the daily breakfast show, including regular on-air car buying-related activities and promotions.

Tamsyn looks to mould future of firm’s tech

TAMSYN Weston has been made the new head of IT and digital at Startline Motor Finance. Her responsibilities include networks, infrastructure and security. She will also be pivotal in delivering a new digital strategy as part of its marketing plans. ‘Startline is at a genuinely interesting point in its development where there is a great opportunity to come in and mould the future of technology within the business,’ she said.
