The Financial Aid Office can assist you in applying for federal, state and institutional funds to help meet your educational expenses. Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov as soon as possible beginning Oct. 1.

Scholarships Available To Students

If you’re self-motivated, self-disciplined and ready for a challenge, take advantage of our online classes. You can earn an Associate in Arts (AA) degree completely online through our Online AA program, or you can take a combination of online and in-person classes. You’ll experience learning from trained faculty at a great tuition rate. You pay in-district tuition no matter where you live for online classes, and you can complete your work anywhere with high-speed internet access.*

Online courses are highly structured and involve frequent online interactions with your instructor and classmates. Courses in the Online AA degree program do not require you to use testing centers or to come to campus, but students can stop by campus to use the Wi-Fi and visit.

Court Reporting Technology (AAS)

Court reporters play a vital role in courtrooms, depositions and other legal proceedings.

The Court Reporting Technology program trains students to be professional judicial reporters as well as broadcast captioners and computer-aided real-time transcriptionists (CART).

Cybersecurity (AAS)

Cybersecurity professionals are in high demand to help protect data and information for businesses, industries and governments.

Cybersecurity students get hands-on training in the classroom and during an internship that enhances their classroom education with real-world experience.

Students get experience with real-time reporting techniques and technology in their core courses and explore potential career options in a supervised internship.

After completing the 60-hour program, students are prepared to take the Illinois Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) and the national Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) exams.

The program provides broad background training that includes computer hardware, networking, operating systems, and programming and scripting courses. Students also can earn several industry certifications, including CompTIA A+, Network+ and Security+ and Cisco CCNA.

IT and business professionals regularly review the Cybersecurity curriculum to ensure the program maintains relevance with industry trends.

Black Hawk College trade and technical students learn to create, repair, install and troubleshoot – all skills that make them highly attractive to local industry recruiters. Just a few subjects you can study with us include automotive repair, CNC (computer numerical control) manufacturing, engineering technology, and welding. Criminal justice programs are also available in our trade and technical offerings.

To meet the demands of an ever-changing agriculture industry, Black Hawk College East Campus offers a variety of career and transfer programs to ensure students are prepared with advanced training, from agribusiness management to veterinary technology.

The Agriculture Program offers students opportunities for on-the-job training with agriculture-oriented businesses in the region and throughout the nation.

Our graduates hold positions in agribusiness management, crop and livestock production, veterinary clinics and hospitals, and ag equipment dealerships. They are mechanics, farm operators, herdsmen, riding instructors and horse trainers.

The BHC East Campus has award-winning equine, livestock judging, and crops and soils judging teams.
