Do you have a home external surveillance system? If so, you can use it to help the Blackhawk Police and other local law enforcement agencies.
By providing the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office with the location of your security cameras, they will know who to contact for important information to assist you. It is important to know that you are in complete control of your security system. Your information is confidential and will be viewed only by law enforcement personnel.
Here is how it works:
Register your camera(s) with the Sheriff’s Office.
If a crime occurs in your neighborhood, detectives may contact you and ask that you check your recordings for specific information.
Your information is kept safe and secure, i.e., never made public. You remain in complete control. The Sheriff’s Office will NEVER have unrestricted access to your cameras, and your participation is completely voluntary. You can opt out at any time.
To Participate:
E-mail the Sheriff’s Crime Analysis Unit at crimeanalysis@so.cccounty.us
Make sure to provide the following information: Contact Name (First and Last), Complete Address, Best Contact Phone Number
This service is restricted to homeowners’ and business owners’ cameras located within the unincorporated areas of Contra Costa County and the contract cities of Danville, Lafayette, and Orinda.
Your partnership with your neighbors, the Blackhawk Police, and the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office will make us a SAFER COMMUNITY.
