Nothing like a colorful cushion of beautiful, festive and seasonal fall mums.

Well the summer is gone with a wink of the eye. The fall weather is here to tickle my senses. The sun has lost some of its strength and heat has ceased to be relentless and the colors have more staying power. As the days grow shorter, the skies at sunset glow with the most spectacular hues, blooming with pinks, reds and oranges.

There is something very special in the air at this time of the year. It is great breathing a crisp fall breeze, watching the golden rustling leaves float delicately to the ground and paint it, enjoying the outdoor fire pit by roasting marshmallows, exchanging stories with friends and family, decorating the home with apple cinnamon pumpkin fragrant candles, pumpkin picking and carving, excitement of buying costumes and going for trick or treating on Halloween. Well, everywhere and everything is pumpkin spiced!

Every time I step outside, my heart is filled with warmth and my senses are flooded with the sight of vibrant shades of flowers and foliage in Blackhawkwarm browns, rich oranges and deep reds. Warm and sunny days intermix with the cooler days. I love the cozy feeling inside a jacket against the brisk air when I go out for a walk. I save the best for the last. Occasionally I end my day by enjoying a pumpkin spiced latte while watching the fall sunset at the Blackhawk Falls Club.

Sonia Lamba As an aspiring photographer, I have always loved taking beautiful photos of my friends and family, nature and travels. After having a fulfilling career in finance in New York, I moved to California in 2014 where my love for photography turned into an invigorating passion. Moving to gorgeous Blackhawk has further enriched and blossomed my love for the camera. I take my camera everywhere, regardless of how short the distance is. Knowing me, there is always a photo opportunity!
