We pride ourselves on the beautiful craftsmanship of our cushions, throws, and floor rugs. Many of our products are handmade by talented artisans - embroidering, printing, weaving, and finishing by hand. As these products are handmade, there may be slight variations in colour, pattern, texture and size from the descriptions in this catalogue or between production runs.
Some of our products are made from natural fibres such as cotton, wool and jute. We aim for our products and processes to leave as little impact on the earth as possible. The materials for our products are carefully sourced and we use natural and recycled fibres wherever possible. Our natural furs and hides are always ethically sourced from trusted suppliers.
Avoid placing hand-dyed products on light coloured furniture or surfaces as colour may sometimes transfer. These hand-dyed products are also susceptible to fading in high UV areas, so please keep out of direct sunlight to avoid discolouration. We hope you enjoy the individuality of these unique and beautifully handmade pieces as much as we do.

LIVING
SMALL SPACE Define a small space such as a reading nook or quiet corner with a smaller size floor rug. Try a 160 x 230cm size floor rug.
CENTRE IT Smaller floor rugs can be used justunder the coffee table to define specific seating areas. Try a 180cm diameter size floor rug.
COVER HALFWAY When furniture is against a wall, aim to have the front legs of all furniture on the floor rug. Try a 200 x 300cm size floor rug.

MANUFACTURING VARIATION It is important to educate your customers if they are purchasing a handmade product whether it is the appropriate product for their situation. Handmade rugs, cushions and throws are not suited for all types of environments. The following are industry accepted manufacturing variations. SIZE As a handmade piece, the size can vary +/- 3% from the size ordered. COLOUR It is normal for floor rugs, throws and cushions to show minor colour variation from selling samples and catalogue images or minor variations between production runs. Some of our floor rugs are also made from natural, undyed yarns which are blended together to create the desired colour. Colour appearance can vary depending on the type of light under which a sample is viewed and the light sources where the floor rug is located. Viewing of samples in the home and under as many different light sources as possible prior to decision making is recommended. You can request floor rug samples on loan. Every effort is made to ensure there is minimal colour variation and that this is within recognised textile industry standards, however some variation should be expected. DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION Minor variations may be evident, which is due to the nature of production and may include weave thickness or pattern, or differences in the yarn weight. An effect known as phasing can occur where designs includes the random use of contrasting colours when at times these colours can coincide in production. Similarly in loop pile floor rugs, shading effects of colour patterning can appear as panelling down the length of the floor rug. Both phasing and panelling are an accepted part of the design and in no way affect the floor rugs performance. PILE REVERSAL/SHADING Due to changes in pile and weave direction shading or shift lines may occur and is a natural characteristic of carpets and floor rugs. From certain angles particular areas may appear lighter or darker than others. This is caused by pile reflecting the light differently in the affected areas. This is a feature characteristic of cut and loop pile floor rugs, especially solid colours. SHEDDING This is a normal characteristic of floor rugs, particularly staple or spun yarn products made from natural fibres such as wool and jute. It is caused by some of the outside fibres or yarn bundles becoming detached during early wear stages. Regular vacuuming with a good quality vacuum cleaner will help the removal of any loose fibres. POP UPS Due to some types of weaving, there can be short fibres popping up while the floor rug settles. These can be trimmed or pushed through. It is the responsibility of the vendor to inform end users of these variations and no responsibility will be taken by Furtex if the customer is not accepting of the above manufacturing variations.

CARE & CLEANING All of our Limon products are labelled with fibre content and detailed care instructions. Please read these instructions carefully to ensure your new cushion, throw or floor rug lasts a long life. We recommended avoiding placing dyed, printed and natural products in direct sunlight to avoid fading. Please avoid placing dark coloured dyed items onto light coloured furniture or floors and vice versa, as colour migration can sometimes occur. CUSHIONS AND THROWS Generally, cushions and throws are best cared for by hand washing or by gently cold machine washing separately. Please do not soak, bleach, tumble dry or dry clean any product without carefully checking the individual recommended care instructions and symbols. FAUX FUR Our faux fur cushions and throws can be cold machine washed separately on gentle cycle, and then drip dried on a line in the shade. We recommend you do not bleach, iron, or tumble dry these beautiful faux furs. Do not rub, wring or spin. Dry cleanable only using specialised fur methods. Do not use a heat process as this will melt and matte the pile. Please do not clean any product without carefully checking the recommended care instructions first. Airing in the breeze or light combing is good for faux fur products as this helps to restore the pile. Due to high UV ratings in New Zealand, keep dark colours away from direct sunlight to prevent fading or discolouration. FLOOR RUGS For most Limon floor rugs: do not dry clean, do not wash, remove spills immediately. Gently dab at the mark with a clean damp white cloth. Remove excess moisture by gently dabbing with a dry cloth. Lightly vacuum regularly, avoid using a brush head. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight as this may result in colour fading. Never use water on viscose rugs. For more extensive care and cleaning information please check the reverse of your rug or consult your rug cleaning specialist. IN & OUTDOOR These products are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use: Anti-mould, water repellent and UV fade resistant. To ensure product longevity it is recommended that all Limon IN & OUTDOOR products are not permanently exposed to the elements as colour may fade over time. We suggest caring for your new cushions and floor rugs by bringing them indoors when not in use. Please follow the recommended cleaning instructions on the attached care label.
