Never doubt the passion of students By SANDY WAKELING Special to Aldergrove Star
Two years ago, students at Aldergrove Community Secondary unveiled a clay mural community art project that continues to delight local residents and visitors alike. Guided by master ceramist Santo Mingosa and ACSS art teacher Susan Gorris, the mural is described as a snapshot of motion, and youth, and bright irrepressible dreams. The ACSS student ceramic team took such pride and joy in their creation, that when many of them began what would be their graduating year last September, they decided they wanted to attempt a second project. This time however, they would work during their Ceramics 11/12 class to cre-
ate a permanent work of art that the team could gift as a legacy for their school. Under the guidance once again of Susan Gorris, an image was designed that would reflect the ACSS School motto, “DREAM, BELIEVE, ACHIEVE”, along with an accompanying image that would reflect each of these for the ACSS student body. The Team members individually proposed each of their ideas to the group; finally one image was agreed upon and constructed taking in many of the ideas of the Team. From the outset, Gorris saw the project as a valuable learning opportunity. “As a teacher of ceramics, I also wanted to offer the students an opportunity to work on a public artwork that would SEE: Page 3

Aldergrove residents keen to have their own public swimming pool will be invited help decide on the design — but they will have to be patient because the facility itself is not expected to be open until 2015. The Township has proposed a pool, indoor ice rink and recreation centre on the site of Aldergrove Elementary School, which was closed at the end of 2007. Most of the school will be demolished and only the section that holds heritage value would be retained. It faces Fraser Highway. These are the two choices council will ask the public to consider: Option 1: $34.8 M — Six-lane pool indoor pool for year-round use; fitness rooms above change rooms; relocation of Aldergrove Library from Kinsmen Centre to the Heritage schoolhouse; multi-purpose rooms, larger lobby and adjacent food service. Option 2: $33.4 M — Six-lane outdoor pool in park-like setting, more multi-purpose rooms, larger lobby, renovation of old school for library. Parks, recreation and culture director David Leavers stated in a report that the new aquatic centre will follow the permanent closure of two aging facilities: the outdoor pool in the Parkside neighbourhood, and the Aldergrove Arena on 272 Street. The costs associated with these facilities would be transferred to the new centre which would also serve as an urban substitute for the man-made lake at the regional Aldergrove Lake Park. The lake has been drained and will not be replaced. Should council decide to transfer the library from the Kinsmen Centre to the school site, the Township would pursue leasing opportunities for the latter, using lease revenue to help finance the operating costs of the new centre. Leavers noted that because of Aldergrove’s population, a new pool will not attract the number of residents that use the Township’s two indoor facilities, the Walnut Grove Rec Centre, and the Blair Rec Centre. Attendance at these two larger facilities could conceivably fall when Aldergrove users switch to the new facility. Leavers said that the Aldergrove pool would serve a catchment area of about 20,000 residents, while Walnut Grove’s catchment is four times larger. SEE: Page 3

NEWS
A dream achieved by student artists FROM FRONT: entail an above and beyond level of commitment and technical skill. Among many of the lessons learned in this project I am hoping that collaborative skillbuilding, clay preparation, application of clay onto a large wall, the creation of a low-relief art work on a large scale, discussions on public vs. private artmaking, an understanding of this mural’s historical precedents around the world and the use of the design elements to effectively create a symbolic image are some of the important issues retained long after these students leave ACSS.” To assist with the historical context of the work, Gorris and the students turned once again to Santo Mignosa who was invited to give a presentation on ceramics around the world. The talk was opened up to interested members of the community as well, many of whom raved about the discussion afterwards. Said one attendee, “Santo’s presentation was a real treat, very inspiring! Fun and entertaining free speech... he is a real artist with passion.” While another guest appreciated being in the company of the students: “Thank you for a very enjoyable morning of ceramic slides with Santo!! I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great watching slides with so many young people that
are interested in the same thing I am.” Equally impressed were the students such as grade 9 student Kennedy who shared, “He was awesome... so many different ways to use clay!” The sentiments were echoed by a grade 12 senior ceramics student who came away inspired: “I learned so much from Santo... he loves what he does and has helped me with some ideas about our mural.” Following the inspiration provided by Santo Mignosa’s slide lecture, the Mural Project Team at ACSS worked diligently at completing the project. The entire wall of clay was cut into 183 tiles that were carefully stored for drying. Once dry the tiles were fired in the Art Department kilns, then fired a second time after each one has been glazed. The completed clay mural has now been installed in the courtyard at ACSS. The eight students who made up the ACSS ceramic mural team are to be congratulated for the hard work they put in this spring, successfully creating the most beautiful mural depicting two hands laying bricks onto a very expressive wall of many more bricks. The work represents the students’ depiction of building achievement on the belief of our dreams.

Aldergrove has ‘strong attachment’ to outdoor pools, says Parks & Rec FROM FRONT: Leavers noted that residential development in west Abbotsford, abutting the Aldergrove border, is not high density, and thus would not have a significant impact on the pool usage. The population there is currently around 5,000. The closest pool in Abbotsford is an indoor pool on Clearbrook Road. Asked later why the Township would consider building an outdoor pool in a temperate rain forest climate which
leaves a pool unused for about eight or nine months of the year, Leavers said that Aldergrove residents had a strong attachment to Aldergrove Lake, and continue to attend enjoy the outdoor pool in Parkside. The Aldergrove Pool Committee strongly supports an indoor facility. The Al Anderson Memorial Pool, an outdoor facility in Langley City, opened on May 11 and will close for the season on Aug. 31.
New equipment for Aldergrove naval radio station By MIRANDA GATHERCOLE Black Press
At Naval Radio Station Aldergrove, power is everything. The site, in conjunction with transmitters in Matsqui, is part of the CFB Esquimalt detachment, providing long-range radio communications to air and naval forces in the Canadian Pacific and Arctic. A single power outage and cut in communication could be devastating, which is why officials are concerned about the increasingly aging electrical systems used on the site. In response, the federal government is now providing $1.1 million to Naval Radio Station Aldergrove for an electrical systems upgrade that will replace the vintage equip-
ment from the 1970s. The project includes a new 450 kW generator with an automatic transfer switch and a weatherproof enclosure. This will ensure that emergency electrical power is available during outages or in emergency situations. “I think there’s an aspect of reliability when you have a new generator,” said Minister of National Defence Peter MacKay, who visited the station on Sunday to make the announcement. “Obviously, there isn’t as much fear or trepidation that there could be interruptions in power, and interruptions in power source when it comes to radio and communications equipment is a real concern.”
A new generator will also have more power, providing the ability to fire up more equipment, MacKay said, adding that he expects more power will be needed in the future as activities in the Arctic continue to increase. “We’ve made a commitment through the Canada First Defence Strategy to provide our men and women in uniform with the best equipment, training, care and support, and to ensure that they have what they need to do this important, difficult, and sometimes dangerous work on behalf of our country,” he said. Installation by contractor Houle Electrical is scheduled to be complete this fall.

www.BobsSteakHouse.ca Reinhold and Klaudia Neumann celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 2 with family and friends at Saints Joachim & Ann Parish Hall in Aldergrove. There were about 160 guests who attended this celebration, including some of the original wedding party: best man Gustav Wagner and bridesmaid Nadia Cooper. Special guest was Klaudia cousin from Poland, Antonina Sacharzuk. In Vancouver on May 31, 1952 they were married at Lutheran Church and then enjoyed a festive reception at Patricia Hall in Aldergrove. The couple are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Aldergrove. They have five children Irene, the twins Harold and Harry, Elizabeth and Simon. They also have 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Reinhold spent years working hard at logging, the railroad, in the fish canner-

ies and other odd jobs to earn enough money to buy a home for his new bride and himself. After they were married they lived with Klaudia’s parents for approximately four years until Reinhold and two brothers Eric and Daniel purchased a treed 160 acres on Bellingham Hwy. (264 St.). The brothers logged off the property and sold the property which had been divided into two half acre lots. They each kept one lot for themselves and built themselves homes on the property. Reinhold’s goal was to purchase a large acreage to start a dairy farm. In 1959 their dream came true when they bought a 40 acre farm, situated in Aldergrove at 2663 Station Road. Once again Reinhold, with Klaudia’s help, cleared the land and built it into a successful dairy business. Reinhold and Klaudia were members of the Fraser Valley Milk Producers Association.

Giant weed can be dangerous By MONIQUE TAMMINGA Black Press

Giant hogweed is popping up in parts of Langley, with the latest sighting in the 21000 block of 77A Avenue in Willoughby. This has prompted a warning to be careful around the extremely dangerous weed. The Township of Langley is aware of giant hogweed and is working to remove the plant from public lands, as well as training staff to identify and safely manage equipment around it. Langley Environmental Partners Society (LEPS) has begun an awareness campaign, recently sending out around 50 letters to homeowners with hogweed on their property. These were spotted by LEPS staff, said executive director Nichole Marples. Most of the plants in Langley are on private property and plants don’t have any qualms about sending a few seeds over neighbouring fences, she said. Although hogweed isn’t prevalent in Langley, there are individual patches scattered all over, said LEPS’ Lisa Dreves, who helps rid Langley of the plant. There is a ground zero, so to speak, centred around the intersection of Fraser Hwy and 232 Street, she said. Giant hogweed is a very extraordinary looking plant that can grow up to 20 feet tall. It was originally introduced to the Lower Mainland as an ornamental garden plant from the Caucasus mountains in west central Asia. Unfortunately, giant hogweed is more than just extraordinary looking, it is also
SUBMITTED PHOTO
The giant plant with a white flower, spotted in Willoughby, is giant hogweed — a potentially dangerous plant which, in certain circumstances, can cause blindness. extraordinarily dangerous, said Dreves. “The highly toxic sap from the plant causes severe skin dermatitis of large blisters or rashes when contacted skin is exposed to light. Worse yet, if the sap enters your eyes it can cause temporary or permanent blindness. “One big problem is that the plant doesn’t appear harmful, and the sap doesn’t sting or hurt when it comes in contact with skin, until the skin is exposed to sunlight.” Children have been known to play with these plants because of their hollow stems which one Burnaby boy used as a telescope, causing him to go blind. Adults may cut down or mow over the plants to control them. Hours later children and adults find themselves covered in painful blisters and they don’t know why, said Dreves. One Aldergrove woman
had horrible blisters and went to her doctor not having a clue where they came from. She had been clearing her front property and had knocked down some hogweed without knowing it, said Marples. Anyone that comes into contact with hogweed sap should seek medical advice immediately. The weed can produce 50,000 to 100,000 winged seeds that can float for three days before becoming water logged and sinking. Seeds can remain viable in the soil for up to 15 years. Control of these plants while they are still small is very effective but still must be done with the utmost care, since even the small plants have sap, warns Dreves. “Use of weed whackers or other power equipment is not recommended since the plants will spray the sap over you and anyone working close to you.” Heavy gloves, water resistant coveralls, and goggles must be worn when controlling giant hogweed. “The best thing to do is put that plant in a black plastic bag and throw it away with the garbage,” said Marples. LEPS can be contracted to do fee-for-service work to control giant hogweed on private properties, however it will only undertake this work while the plants are under one metre in height, due to the risks involved. If you know of a location of giant hogweed in the Township of Langley call 604533-6090 Ext.2550. To contact LEPS about control on your property, call Lisa at 604-532-3517 or ldreves@tol.ca
Opponents of Kinder Morgan’s plan to twin its Trans Mountain pipeline through B.C. and load much more crude oil onto tankers say a scathing U.S. report on a 2010 spill there is a wake-up call on the risks the existing line poses. NDP politicians and B.C. environmental groups have seized on U.S. regulators’ findings in the spill at an oil pipeline owned by Enbridge Inc. into Michigan’s Kalamazoo River as grounds to terminate the company’s proposed Northern Gateway pipeline to Kitimat. But Sheila Muxlow, a Chilliwack-based activist with the anti-twinnning Pipe Up Network, hopes Kalamazoo also galvanizes B.C. opposition to Kinder Morgan’s project. “The same risks that are raised with the transport of tar sands along an Enbridge pipeline exist for the Kinder Morgan pipeline and are even escalated because they’re using a 60-year-old pipeline,” she said. In Michigan, an aging pipeline burst and the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board blamed Enbridge for a 17-hour delay in acting to contain the breach, which spilled 840,000 gallons of oil sands crude into the Kalamazoo River and triggered a $767-million cleanup there. B.C. Premier Christy Clark, accused of fence-sitting and failing to take a stand on Northern Gateway, called the Kalamazoo spill response “disgraceful” and pledged B.C. will intervene in National Energy Board hearings to raise its concerns with Enbridge’s $5.5-billion project there. Federal NDP leader Thomas Mulcair and B.C. NDP leader Adrian Dix both denounced Northern Gateway last week and called on Ottawa and the province to scrap it in light of the Kalamazoo report. Muxlow said Kinder Morgan’s plans have in comparison run under the radar, but added she expects equally vocal opposition to build. “There are major risks for all of us living along the pipeline – not just environmentally but economically as well.” Critics like Muxlow claim increased shipments of bitumen from the oil sands are raising the risk of a pipeline rupture because the heavy crude is mixed with more cor-
rosive diluent (a solvent) to help it flow. Muxlow said she’s disappointed Dix and the provincial NDP have yet to take a stand against the Trans Mountain expansion. “It is a little irresponsible,” she said. “This is a real issue. It’s happening right now – we’re all at risk. It would make sense for hopeful political parties to take a position.” Muxlow wants Kinder Morgan to scrap the $4-billion expansion pipeline and agree to limit the use of the existing pipe to light crude or refined petroleum. She said the Pipe Up group represents concerned people from Hope to Langley, including farmers and other residents worried about potential impacts – including reduced property values – due to the pipeline corridor. Kinder Morgan spokesperson Lexa Hobenshield rejected suggestions the existing pipeline is unsafe. “Age doesn’t necessarily relate to the condition of the pipeline,” she said, adding the company has a “robust” pipeline integrity process in place. More sensitive tools now exist to monitor pipeline safety, she said. Nor are all portions of the pipeline 60 years old. A new tunnel beneath the Fraser River was drilled in 2002 to improve the pipeline’s chances of withstanding an earthquake, Hobenshield said. She said claims diluent increase the risk of corrosion are misinformation. “Pipelines transporting diluted bitumen are not at any greater risk of corrosion than pipelines carrying any other kind of petroleum product.” Kinder Morgan has yet to identify the exact route of its pipeline expansion, which would increase Trans Mountain’s capacity from 300,000 barrels per day now to 750,000 by 2017. That would bring about 300 oil tankers a year through Burrard Inlet to load at the Westridge Terminal in Burnaby. Kinder Morgan has had past oil spills on land, including a pipeline breach in 2007 in Burnaby and at a tank farm in Abbotsford earlier this year. The existing pipeline route runs through the Lower Mainland on the south side of the Fraser River before crossing at Surrey and running through Coquitlam and Burnaby.

A 22-year-old Aldergrove man is facing extradition to Australia to face sentencing for his alleged part in smuggling thousands of ecstasy pills inside a Playstation console in 2008. According to Provincial Court documents, Tyson Saviro Santolla allegedly flew home to Canada last week, just before he was supposed to be sentenced in Brisbane, Australia. Santolla, an Aldergrove Community Secondary grad (according to his Facebook page) was supposed to be sentenced in Brisbane last week in connection with drug smuggling allegations. Santolla’s co-accused, Canadian Jonathan Ried, received a three-year jail sentence last week. According to Richmond Provincial Court documents, the 22-year-old arrived at Vancouver International Airport where he was arrested on arrival. He is accused of travelling on a passport that didn’t have his proper name and lying to immigration authorities. He remains in custody while officials in Australia file an extradition order in B.C. Supreme Court. The courts there have issued a warrant for his arrest. According to Gold Coast.com, Santolla, Reid and a New Zealander were arrested in October, 2008, accused of smuggling 3,400 tablets of ecstasy inside a Sony PlayStation. Customs officers in Sydney thwarted the smuggling attempt when they detected the tablets inside an old PlayStation
machine and inside the cover of a PlayStation game. The Australian Federal Police tracked the parcel to an address in Surfer’s Paradise where they arrested and charged three men. The men face one count each of importing and attempting to possess a commercial quantity of a border-controlled drug. All three were released on bail. On May 11, Santolla wrote on his Facebook wall “Have to go in f*#k the feds got 3 weeks to 3 months out could be 2 week never know what the feds will pull gotta do 3 and a half years see you all when I get home lots of love from auzzy.” Media reports indicate that in Reid’s sentencing last week, it emerged that police planted a listening device inside the Playstation. It recorded the young men whooping with excitement when they went to unpack the drugs. The media report also said the judge who sentenced Reid accepted evidence that he didn’t know about the importation, but was a victim of the activities of others. The Australian court issued an arrest warrant for Santolla when he failed to show up for sentencing. He’s scheduled to have a bail hearing in Richmond Provincial Court on July 31. He is officially charged with illegally possessing documents to establish identity, using false documents to enter Canada and knowingly misrepresenting facts.

Driediger Farm will host the annual Langley Eats Local festival on Sunday, July 29. The event encourages people to eat locally grown produce, such as that which can be found each week at the farmers’ market. The festival runs on Sunday, July 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Driediger Farms, 23823 - 72 Ave. Admission is free. Last year, more than 1,200 people enjoyed picking berries in the U-pick fields and socializing in the open air market. Some came from as far away as Vancouver Island. “Everyone who attended the event is already truly con-
cerned with supporting food locally and knows where their food comes from,” said Bonnie Windsor, assistant plant manager at Johnston’s. One attendee described their experience as a rare opportunity to both shop and eat locally amidst a family farming operation — a sentiment strongly echoed by Langley Eats Local returning vendors and exhibitors.

The widespread appreciation among participants, exhibitors, and vendors from last year’s successful Langley Eats Local has prompted the Langley Environmental Partners Society to host this year’s event at Driediger Farms. The goal of the festival is to celebrate Langley’s vast agricultural land reserve and to encourage citizens of the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley to shop and eat from our region. Langley Eats Local is a family-oriented day of fun featuring local music talent, face painting, community group exhibits, and artistic craftsmanship, and quality local foods. There will be a variety of fresh food samples and local products to purchase including produce, preserves, flowers, and pottery. One of many returnees, the Suburban Spoon, will be providing concession at the event from an entertainingly purple mobile kitchen. LEPS will also have an interactive display of edible native plants courtesy of Cedar Rim Nursery.
“LEPS hosts Langley Eats Local as a way to introduce citizens to local food providers, and to encourage the positive environmental impact that supporting local producers has on our global footprint, as well as the economic benefits of keeping our money local,” said Nichole Marples, LEPS executive director. Langley Eats Local is made possible through funding provided by the Vancity Community Projects Grant and the Metro Vancouver Agriculture Awareness Grant. Featured vendors and exhibitors include A Bread Affair Baguetterie, All Things Organic, Campbell’s Gold Honey Farm & Meadery, de la Bouche Specialty Foods, Edible Vancouver, Farm Folk City Folk, Frogs Not Included, Glorious Organics Cooperative, Johnston’s, Langley Demonstration Garden and Grow Healthy Grow Smart, LEPS, Langley Community Farmers Market, Langley Sustainable Agriculture Foundation, Milner Valley Cheese, Old World Specimens, Pampered Chef, Salmon Safe BC and Suburban Spoon.

Challenger Baseball inspires Miracle Field At first, Ledell Kendall was reluctant to sign her son up for Langley Baseball’s Challenger Baseball program. Since the program incorporates kids of all ages to play on one team, she wasn’t sure how her son, Francis, would react. Francis has autism, and moebius syndrome, a rare neurological disorder which leaves those with the condition unable to make any facial movements or move their eyes, as well as affecting their vision. But she signed him up. “We knew that he lacked the fine and gross motor skills to do regular baseball,” she explained. “We were looking for something he could do, which was a typical sport, but still be safe. “And something that was fun and not competitive.” So Ledell and her husband Adam signed him up for Challenger Baseball. Challenger Baseball is for children and youth who have cognitive or physical disabilities. The program allows them to play the sport in a non-competitive environment. Each player is assisted by a ‘buddy’ who assists them on the field. It allows the players a chance to enjoy the full benefits of the sport, but structured to their abilities. This was four years ago, and Francis, now 9, loves playing the sport. Francis’ favourite position is back-catcher, he says, explaining that without him standing behind home plate, there would be no one to throw the ball back to the pitcher. The Kendalls are happy too. “He was very excited, especially when he got to wear a uniform,” Ledell said. They love what being in some semblance of an organized sport does for their son. “It improved his social skills because he is able to talk to his friends about baseball,” she said. “And it improved his running, his attention span, everything.
GARY AHUJA PHOTO
Thanks to the Challenger Baseball program, Francis Kendall, who has autism and moebius syndrome, has been able to play baseball for four years. “It helped him mature and grown so he is more in line with his peers.” “For Francis, because of his condition, it provides structure and rules that he has to abide by,” said Adam. “Making him keep up with the responsibilities.” The Kendall’s would recommend other families to sign their children up. “Some people think with Challenger baseball, you have to be in a wheelchair, or missing a limb,” Ledell said. “It is if you are unable to cope with a regular baseball team. It allows everybody to participate because it is inclusive.” •••••• A few weeks ago ( June 23),
Langley’s City Park hosted the Challenger Baseball Jamboree, with a couple of hundred of kids taking part. This was the biggest Challenger provincial event to date. And work is underway for even bigger and better things. Thanks to the efforts of the four local Rotary clubs — Rotary Club of Langley Central, Rotary Club of Langley, Rotary Club of Langley Sunrise and the Aldergrove Rotary Club — work is underway to create a Miracle Field. The permanent field will be designed specifically for kids with disabilities and will cost between $300,000 and $400,000 to complete. Between the two local baseball organizations that offer Challenger Baseball — Langley Baseball and North Langley Diamond Sports — there are currently about 50 to 60 players in the program. The potential site of the Miracle Field is Milner Park. The field would be switched to artificial turf, and be made wheelchair accessible. “Nothing sticking up, nothing for the kids to trip over,” explained Langley Baseball’s Dan McLaren, who was approached by the Rotary clubs about the project. “We are well underway,” said Mike Brown, the past-president of the Rotary Club of Langley Central, who is spearheading the project. “We are coming along, it is just a matter of getting things moving; there is so much you have to get in place.” Construction on the first Miracle League Field began in 1999 and there are now 250 Miracle League organizations across the United States. There is also one in Australia and one in Canada, back east in Ontario. Brown said the goal is to have the Langley field completed within the next two years. David Leavers, the Township of Langley’s director of recreation, culture and parks, confirmed that the Township has been approached about using Milner Park as the site of the field.

Grandfondo ride’s scenic beauty a hit with cyclists By GARY AHUJA Black Press
Judging by comments from some of the participants at Sunday’s Prospera Valley GranFondo, the sideroads connecting Fort Langley to Abbotsford should become even more popular among the cycling community. “They were totally blown away, said George Lacny, the Canadian Velo Event Management Society’s media relations manager. “The net result from this is going to be a lot more people coming to cycle in Fort Langley. He said the participants, many of them in the area for the first time, marveled at the scenic beauty the ride offered. Just under 1,200 cyclists took part in the GranFondo, a mass
cycling event which featured three different rides of varying lengths. The 160-km GranFondo, which went south from Fort Langley through the country roads, along 0 Avenue, up and over Sumas Mountain and then back to Fort Langley along the Matsqui flats and through Glen Valley along the Fraser River. The 80-km MedioFondo went from Fort Langley, along O Avenue and then back through Bradner and Glen Valley. And then there was the Sylvan Family Fondo, a kid-friendly three-km ride. The GranFondo will be held again next year, this time on July 28. The same route could possibly be used once again, but that will be determined following a debriefing of Sunday’s event, Lacny said.
Among the participants were travellers from four different provinces as well as four states. The furthest of those were from Alabama, and they came specifically for the event, he said. Everything went smoothly in Sunday’s event, including the weather co-operating as the rain held off until later in the day. The Fort Langley National Historic Site also served as the place for the pre and post-ride festivities. “It went fantastic, it truly was a great event,â€? Lacny said. “And the festivities at the Fort, everyone had a great time with it.â€? Half of the proceeds will be donated to Special Olympics BC, the ride’s charitable partner. That HARRY HUNT PHOTO amount will be announced once all The Prospera Grandfondo event for the Special Olympics started Sunday morning in Fort of the numbers are finalized. IN MEMORIAM Cliff Davidson God saw you getting tired the cure was not to be so he closed his arms around you and whispered come to me you suffered much in silence your spirit did not bend you faced your pain with courage until the very end you tried so hard to stay with us your fight was all in vain God took you to his loving home and freed you from all pain never does a day go by that we do think of you a lump forms deep within my chest and the tears begin to flow so many times I’ve needed you to talk, to share, to laugh if love could have saved you you never would have died
