We are used to welcoming walkers to Wales - and not just super-fit enthusiasts, but all sorts of leisure walkers, weekend walkers and family walkers who just want to ramble about the scenic coast and countryside. Our footpaths come in all shapes and sizes: rough and smooth, long and short, easy and exhausting. We have gentle lakeside and forest strolls, trails to the peaks of Snowdon and serious challenges for steely outdoor enthusiasts But it’s not all mountains – there’s also fabulous coastal walking that just got even better with the opening of a world's first - the Wales Coast Path. The sheer size and brilliance of the Path makes it unlike any other in the world, and whether you want to attempt the entire distance as the ultimate endurance test, or are simply looking for a wander through the countryside, this glorious path and its coast is not to be missed.
If golf is more your thing, the stunning scenery of Snowdonia forms a backdrop to over twenty courses and driving ranges, with all abilities catered for. We have around 20 courses, including one of the UK’s finest – Royal St David’s at Harlech, and the iconic link at Nefyn, perched on cliffs along the Llyn Peninsula. Courses at Aberdyfi, Porthmadog, Pwllheli and Bangor are part of the James Braid North Wales Golf Trail. With characteristics such as hilly terrain, rocky outcrops, gorse, elevated greens and a long par 4, out of reach to most golfers, it’s the perfect recipe to test your game.
Sure Wales boasts breath-taking views and stunning scenery, but it offers much more besides. From unique and interesting specialist shops to charming little towns and villages. Wales is home to excellent nature reserves, magnificent medieval castles and some A-list locations, just to name a few...
