Ice Cream in a Bag

Ingredients: 1/4 Cup Salt 1 TBSP Sugar 1 1/2 TSP Vanilla Extract 1 Cup Half and Half OR Milk Ice Ziploc Bags (1 Small, 1 Large)

Directions: 1. In the small bag add the half and half OR milk, sugar, and vanilla extract and seal firmly letting out excess air 2. In the large bag add the ice and salt, leaving enough room for the smaller bag to fit. 3. Place the small bag into the large bag 4. Fill the rest of the large bag with ice and seal 5. Shake, shake, shake mixture for 6-10 minutes. 6. Take the small bag out of the large bag and rinse the outside of the small bag 7. Take a spoon and use it to mix around a bit 8. Add toppings or other mixes and enjoy!

DIY Catapult

Supplies: 5 Popsicle sticks/ Craft Sticks 1 Plastic Spoon Rubber bands Foil/Marshmallows/Paper/ Pom Poms (for ammo)

Directions: 1. Take the 5 sticks and stack them, rubber band each end so that it is secured 2. Slide one stick in between the bottom stick and the rest of the stack and center it 3. Wrap a rubber band on one end of the center stick 4. Place the plastic spoon on top and rubber band the end of the spoon with the end of the stick that is centered 5. Test the catapult with your choice of ammo!

These shows are planned with children ages 6-11 in mind, but all ages are welcome to join the fun. No registration is required to view these events, but please be sure to check broadcast times for each performance as show times vary.

More fun for ages 7-11! – Imagine Your Story “To Go” Each week from June 1st through July 27th we will have new “to go” packets featuring activities, crafts, or experiments based on this summer’s theme! We will supply the special materials needed and instructions. You may have to provide basic supplies such as crayons, glue, and scissors. There is no registration required for these packets, and they are free while supplies last.

Imagine your Story on a wild safari with David Kleven, aka Critterman! Be sure to join us for furry and slimy surprises!

Lucas Miller, The Singing Zoologist – Thursday, July 2nd, at 10:00 a.m. Get ready to sing and learn with author, songwriter, and zoologist Lucas Miller. We guarantee you’ll be humming his tunes the rest of the day!

Christine Ford, Children’s Author – Thursday, July 9th, at 10:00 a.m.

It gets hot in Texas in July, so we’ll be ready to imagine wintertime with Ms. Ford’s SNOW program featuring puppets, poetry, and play time!

Miss Jacqui, Storyteller – Thursday, July 16th, at 10:00 a.m.

Storyteller Extraordinaire, Miss Jacqui, is planning an all new show for us with her own special brand of magic and mischief!
