THE PROPERTY HISTORY & VISION Located at the southern end of Baja California Sur, Los Cabos is one of Mexico’s top resort destinations for relaxation and adventure. It encompasses the historical towns of San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, which have some of the most breathtaking beaches, magnificent natural attractions, and superb wellness havens in Mexico. Del Mar originated in a unique slice of land called Palmilla, which stretches from a pristine beachfront to a desert mountainside, just outside of San José del Cabo. Friends Ron Hatfield and Kenneth Schnitzer vacationed here in 1994 and saw the potential to build a world-class community that combined luxury lifestyle, privacy, and comfort. Soon later, they purchased their first sliver of land next to the Palmilla Hotel, breaking ground on Villas Del Mar in 1995. The company they created, Del Mar Development, quickly evolved based on their motto of innovation and quality, which later led to the creation of its Four Cornerstones of Success. Twenty-five years later, Del Mar contemplates new ventures and projects that will further solidify its place as a leading innovation company.
