My name is Blanca, I am 26 years old spanish girl, and I obtained a Fine Arts degree past year. I have advanced knowledge of graphic design, photography and illustration, but I enjoy explorig all kind of ways of expressiong my creativity. I am able to deal with any area of graphic design, but I feel a special predilection for layout and editorial design. I love to design clear, smart and effective works. I also like baking cupcakes, I love travelling, I would eat sushi every day of my life and my favorite color is purple (Pantone 520 C) Now I could explain how I consider my work, but I prefer you to discover it by yourself...
Blanca cupcakes is an innovative, fun and young company, dedicated to cupcake baking in Madrid. The excellent quality of its pastries and its finishes, customized for each order, are their distinctive. The design of its image it is a mixed brand made up of a logo, recognizable and easy to promote, and a symbol that adds visual impact, and place it in its sector. The round and smooth typography provides proximity and joviality, but its technological nature retains the elegance and professionalism required. The symbol is a simple line illustration of a cupcake. The color range is inspired by the sweet flavors, but does not include conventional pastel tones, rather it is composed of more saturated, strong and dynamic colors. The main blue tone is combined with a medium gray, which gives a more technical character to the set. In addition, I have selected three secondary tones for different branding applications.

Taki brand brings together all projects, from different disciplines, created by the visual artist Blanca Martinez, unifying them under a single identity. The design of its brand image is essential to target in a professional manner to potential clients interested in hiring their services.
Taki word is composed of square blocks that correspond to one basic unit of measurement, and follows a pattern of kerning and letters with the same thickness. The negative version additionally is also quadrangular, accentuating its block appearance.
The logo is composed of two sentences, the brand name and the sector to which it belongs.
Its design, inspired by the rhythm, color and duality features of their projects, it also refers to the pixel, unavoidable component in the operational fields of this artist: graphic design, illustration and photography.

Room Mate is a hotel chain based in some of the most important cities in the world which is in full expansion. Stand out among its competitors for its modern philosophy, and its hallmarks are the originality and a careful design. Its corporate color is unquestionably orange combined with white, and its logo, which has its own tipography, is quickly recognizable and has great character. As a personal project, I have developed a system of pictograms needed to signage hotels, based and keeping its corporate identity. Icons are designed using geometrical lines without changing the thickness. Taking into account the principles of innovation of this company, I have designed the symbols for men and women separately, setting aside outdated roles in which this distinction is based only on the dress, and based on the peculiarities of physiognomic of each sex.

Calendar inspired by the famous office clock designed by Tibor Kalman, which only displays the time of the end of the workday. This design is focused as an object for self-promotion, and highlights the importance of free time versus working hours.
The style is simple and functional, and the numbers of non-labor days increase the size and appear darker to strengthen the persecuted idea. This is a basic design, which can be modified depending on variations holidays each year.
The space of the week is divided in two equals, labor and non-labor, so the weekend seems to last longer and gains importance compared to conventional calendar designs.
As for the color, I selected four tones representing the four seasons. This way, the colours help to distinguish them subtly, without needing to add any text or symbol.

This project is my personal tribute to a publication to which I have always admired, both for its interesting content and its design. After a detailed study of its grid and style, I have reproduced as faithfully as possible, a selection of pages of the famous magazine National Geographic.

Design, illustrations and hand-bookbinding of the book Compro, robo, vendo un picasso, by Quino Collantes. The main objective was to achieve optimum readability, providing a modern, clean and sober style. The illustrations, however, add a nearest character, thanks to its traditional watercolor technique. The bookbinding in hardcover made, has a gloss finish paper shirt that full and protects it.

Ophidia is a photographic project by Blanca Martinez about the relationship between humans and nature and the reaffirmation of the fortress of women. It consists of a self-portraits series, in strong and calm semblant, neutral style without artifice, leading to the true protagonists of this project, snakes. This artist book was designed with the idea of enhancing photographs. For this reason white or neutral tones were selected, and the book share the same format with snapshots. I designed a square grid, which divides into four equal parts each page. The images are arranged on each double page and form constructions that mark a rhythm based on repetitions and unexpected changes. Further, through the choice of materials, a tactile sensory experience is added, since the texture in the cover emulates scaly skin of a reptile.
